Gosh, just recalled why I am so lazy today, just wanted to stay home and
get really deep into that luscious B-Day pound cake and ice cream and relative
dropped off to me yesterday. Now that will be a real treat as she makes a
scrumptious cream cheese pound cake.
Everyone celebrate with me, how about it?????? js

Anyone else have so much on their minds when they go to bed at night that they
cannot go to sleep and rest at all, well that happens often to me and last night was one of those kind.
So am still home this morning, may jump back in the bed for some much needed
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's; then when I awake, may get on with my 30+ mile trek into
town, but it is cold outside and to rain the rest of the day. May get lazy, but am telling myself I deserve a much needed break. Tomorrow I should be rejuvenated enough to go back to those renovations.
Called painter and alerted her I would not be back today, she said alright, all we were to do was sand some touch up places, sand now that it is dry and then paint. I don't like to paint anyway, so guess I'm playing hooky from the job.

Am home for the night to grab some shrubs and small
flowers to plant at new place, then will have to head out
again first thing in the morning. NO rest for this weary old body.

Enjoyable Conference Outings

A friend asked that I attend a conference with her in a town about 2 hrs away, in a lovely Historic town, on the riverfront. All well and good except the cold weather that came in on us the afternoon we got there, and the wind off that river was something else.
Two of our nightly events were away from the hotel and we were transported on
trolleys that had no heat and the side door would not close. Upon arrival for our
meals, discovered there was no heat in either of these buildings, one being a part of an old boat manufacturing facility. Never drank so much coffee at one event in my life, but food was great.
The other night we had a catered meal in an old Commission house in the historic district near the Palace on the riverfront, and no heat, another night of heavy coffee consumption, but great food.
Would love to go back in the summertime, but too many tourists converging all of the entire area in the warmer temps.
Hope all others had a great weekend.

Socked In!!!!

Our area is socked in with extremely heavy fog today, word is it will last us
right in our area throughout the day.
Caused by the cooler off the ocean and warmer temps coming to our area
from the west of us.
Raining heavy at present over our 10-15 mile area, and we sure don't need it.
Home today to get packed for a church conference until Sunday pm.
Supposed to have terrible rainy, cold weather for this time period. Good that we will be at a big hotel were we don't have to go out unless absolutely necessary. Great!
Don't like cold, rainy weather, that kind is good only for hibernating, and snuggling down under the covers with a good book or find a great tv program. Some areas
within our 100 mile radius will reach 80, but here where I am and a bit further on
to the coast, supposed to be 45 or so.
Will it ever get Spring for all of us? Sure hope it is right around the corner.
Got drain trenches dug at this new property, but can't get pipe etc in and cover it back over as the ground is frozen and won't rake back over the pipe just yet. Even
the electrician cannot fill his trench in where he put an electric line from one building to another. Oh well, one day it will get done.
Everyone have a great week. Will drop a post on here possibly Sun nite when I'll be back.
 and remember an  a day helps keep the DR. away.

Not Been Hiding Out - But Busy

Things are really busy down my way. Playing 'gopher' to the two guys working
on renovating my house when they can get away from their other job to be at mine.
They are both ex-military from the Marine Base nearby and work like to Trojans
and want it done right. Have the kitchen about renovated and ready to call in the
countertop installers, and shape up a few other things.
Have enjoyed working with them, but the whole situation is wearing on my 'thin' nerves and I'll be glad when they are done.
Everybody wish me good luck in seeing the end soon. MAYBE by my B-Day this month it will be ready to enjoy.
Off to a church conference next week for 5 days, so that will give me a break.
Not much accomplished this week due to all the rain, snow, then ice this past week.
Snow and ice almost totally destroyed one of the big palm trees at the front of the house, hope to salvage the rest of it.
Everybody have a great weekend. Am off again Sat pm back down to face a hammer
and saw for a couple of days before sliding out there for the conference.

All my carpenters, electricians, cabinetmakers, plumbers and landscapers
finally got off my back for a few hours this afternoon.
Progress on re-doing smaller house is coming along, but not fast enough.
The whole house looks like a hazard zone; maybe will be shaping up soon to get back in order.
Maybe 10 days to 2 weeks will have me about ready to settle back to a normal routine.
Sure hope so.
Hope all others doing great.

Got a couple of guys lined up today to help move things from Lake that can
be used at the new downsized place at the beach. Didn't realize how we have become dependent on the use of a microwave, vaccumn and even a George Foreman grill
in everyday life. Have all those things that can be brought to the new place, so
OFF we go about 8am to retrieve items that can better be used elsewhere.
All have a great weekend. Supposed to have some sunshine here in our area, and it will be a much welcome sight after so much unsettled weather for several weeks now.

Horrible Weather

Got out of my last CE class tonight about 9:15 pm or so, and was met at the
door out of the training facility with heavy misty 'stuff', more like sleet almost, and was freezing to most benches etc. Need this mess to get out of SE NC, I have too many projects I need to get finished up in the next few days. Locks to be put back on the exterior doors, furniture etc moved from one location to this new location, and nobody wants to help in this kind of weather, as all have had the flu at least once if not more times since before Xmas.
Hoping we will get some decent weather maybe the weekend or next week.
