Last fall I was extremely excited (as you can see in my past posts) about going to my first Keith Urban concert. At the time I had just discovered this amazing talent and since then he has become one of my absolute favorite singers.

The concert my husband and I went to last year was absolutely phenomenal!! We were only several rows from the stage and I could practically reach out and touch him...that's how close we were.

So anyway, the whole point of this post. Last week I was at the busstop waiting for my to get off the bus and an announcement comes on the radio about a Keith Urban concert. Of course my ears instantly perk up and I discover he is coming to Mohegan Sun. For any of you that have ever been in the Mohegan Sun arena you know it is a smaller venue as far as concert venues go so I am certain that there is no way I will be able to get tickets.

I get home from the busstop and immediately check Mohegan's website and discover that tickets aren't even on sale yet so there may be a chance. As luck would have it when tickets went on sale last Friday the sold out almost immediately.

Being the person I am however I didn't give up. I went on a search for some good tickets to see the concert. Now I knew there would be know way I would get as good seats as I did last year but I did manage to get some incredible seats in the first row of the lower balcony right next to the stage!!! Mohegan Sun is such that the balcony seats that are near the stage are much better than floor seats in the back which was the closest floor seats I would have been able to get so I am very pleased with the seats I was able to get.

So who's going with me this year? My soon to be 9 year old begged emphatically (I guess she has heard enough Keith Urban music to start liking him) so I am bringing her with me this time.....it will be her first concert so she is extremely excited about it. And of course we all know how excited I am since I absolutely love him!!!

I'll let you all know how the concert was (isn't until October 20th so there won't be any Keith Urban updates till then hehehe)

Have a great day!!

PS....The picture with this post was one I took last year from the concert!!

The Wit and Wisdom of Winnie the Pooh

And we always thought Pooh was simply a Silly Ole Bear!!

“If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together.. there is something you must always remember... you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. but the most important thing is, even if we're apart... i'll always be with you.”

"If there ever comes a day when we can't be together keep me in your heart, I'll stay there forever”

“It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like "What about lunch?""

"Promise me you'll never forget me because if I thought you would I'd never leave.”

“Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind.
”Pooh," he whispered.
"Yes, Piglet?"
"Nothing," said Piglet, taking Pooh's paw, "I just wanted to be sure of you."”

"If the person you are talking to doesn't appear to be listening, be patient. It may simply be that he has a small piece of fluff in his ear.”

"You can't help respecting anybody who can spell TUESDAY, even if he doesn't spell it right; but spelling isn't everything. There are days when spelling Tuesday simply doesn't count."

“Don't underestimate the value of Doing Nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can't hear, and not bothering.”

“Before beginning a Hunt, it is wise to ask someone what you are looking for before you begin looking for it.”

“You can't always sit in your corner of the forest and wait for people to come to you... you have to go to them sometimes.”

“Always watch where you are going. Otherwise, you may step on a piece of the Forest that was left out by mistake.”

“Pooh looked at his two paws. He knew that one of them was the right, and he knew that when you had decided which one of them was the right, then the other was the left, but he never could remember how to begin.”

“Just because an animal is large, it doesn't mean he doesn't want kindness; however big Tigger seems to be, remember that he wants as much kindness as Roo.”

It never ceases to amaze me the stupid things that will do. Now mind you it is the first day of school and if you read my blog you know I hate getting up early....definitely not a morning person. But being the good mother I am up at 6:30 this morning (yes that is early for me!!). I immediately get in the shower before waking up my girls.

Come to find out my oldest who will be turning 9 in October is so excited about getting back to school that she was awake at 4:30 this morning. She made her bed, got herself dressed in her first day of school outfit, put on some new jewelry she got and was all ready except for me fixing her hair.

We typically have to wet it a bit in the AM and re-blowdry some of the areas. She has this new hair cut that she just recently got that looks adorable on her. It's kind of a bob style that is longer in the front but short and stacked in the back. She really looks cute with it.

Anyway, I start to blowdry her hair and what do I see but these short hairs sticking up in the middle of her head that weren't there last night when we styled it before bed. I immediately knew that she had taken a pair of scissors and cut her own hair!!!!! Of course she tried to play dumb when I asked her why on earth she would cut her hair.

Finally after much prodding she admitted that one of the girls in one of the books she read over the summer had cut her hair and she thought if she cut a small snip off it would look cute. So now my went to her first day of school in her pretty new outfit, with her new haircut with hairs sticking up in the center of her head!!

What on earth will she think of next??????

So that's how my day started....how about yours?

Not a Morning Person

Well my daughters start school today and needless to say I am not a morning person in the least bit. Mind you I am typically up by 8AM most mornings (although I will admit to sleeping in on occassion when the are gone) but now that the girls are going back to school, 6:45 just seems so early!!

I think back to when I was still working and it amazes me that I used to get up at 4:30 and it never seemed to phase me. I don't know if it is just the fact that I am getting older or that I haven't been in that work routine for almost 10 years.

I am so bad in the mornings that I don't even enjoy sex at that time of the day. I need to get several cups of coffee into me and really wake up before I can truly enjoy it. That has also been something that has changed during the years....I never used to mind it first thing in the morning before I had but now it is definitely my least favorite time for sex even though sex is one of my favorite activities.

Well I am off to bed so I can get used to my new morning routine with school starting. No more staying up till 1 or 2 AM.....but before I end this I just thought of an interesting question.

What is your favorite time of the day for sex? Do you just like it anytime you can get it or are there certain times in the day that you enjoy it more than others?

I definitely like the evenings the best since I am such a night owl but also love when I can get an afternoon delight.....so tell me about your favorite times!!

Night all!!

Healthy Glow Not So Healthy

I just found out yesterday that one of my girlfriends has Type 3 Skin Cancer, one of the worst possible cancers a person can possibly get believe it or not. This type of cancer is so invasive that is spreads rapidly and effects all organs within your body eventually.

Imagine having a simple, small brown spot on your arm that looks like it may have gotten slightly bigger but looks just like a simple freckle. You have it removed and they tell you it is Skin Cancer and the very serious type. She is handling the news very well. Much better than I think I would handle it.

One of the things that I am taking away from this news is that getting that healthy summer glow is not so healthy. We all know that the sun can be bad for us but we never really think about it until something like this happens. I have always tanned easily and always tend to get very dark but I know going forward I am going to be much more careful with going in the sun....you just never know if it could be you.

Anyone reading this please take it to heart and consider the risks next time you are going to a tanning booth or in the sun.

I've been on A F F long enough to know that there are many fake profiles on here and many people impersonating people they truly are not. Today, however, I happened across the most blatantly obvious false profile. The person had the audacity to post a face picture of Adam Venatieri as his own. I am not a huge football fan but I am pretty sure that most people have a clue who Adam Venatieri is.

Believe it or not what was even more shocking was that this person actually had a large number of individuals who were part of their network. Are people that ignorant to the fact that the person has posted fake pictures (we won't even discuss the professional pornographic photos that were posted of "his" body) or do fake profiles tend to gravitate to fake profiles?

Summer Almost Gone Already????

It seems like just yesterday Spring was upon us and I was looking forward to Summer. Now all of a sudden I have blinked and summer is almost a memory. Not quite sure where it went but I do know I didn't do nearly the number of things I would have liked to have done this summer. I guess there is always next year but that just seems too depressing to have to wait an entire year.

I do love Fall in New England.....I've travelled many places throughout the United States and still think New England is the place to be during the Fall so at least I have that to look forward to. Unfortunately I am not looking forward to Winter this year. I really think it is time to start considering a location with a warmer climate so I don't have to suffer through Winter's which I hate more and more every year. I love the San Antonio/Austin area so I am pretty sure that my family and I will eventually end up somewhere in that area.

Anyway, for anyone who is reading this, I hope you are enjoying your summer and if you are lucky enough to be somewhere warm year round then you are definitely the lucky ones.

Aura of Sexuality

My husband is always telling me that my personality exudes an aura of sexuality and many people I meet say the same thing about me. I do know that I am a very sexual person and tend to dress with a hint of sexiness especially when going out for a night on the town. I'd love to hear from everyone what they feel gives a person an aura of sexuality. What types of things do you look for in a man or a woman that give you that feeling about them? Just curious what others think.

So it is that time of year again when we all make our New Year's resolutions. It seems every year I always make a resolution but it always seems I forget about it shortly after the year begins. What about everyone else? Do you make resolutions and if you do, do you actually follow through with them? BTW....Happy New Year!!

Holiday Trees???? Isn't That Taking it a Bit Far??

So I was born and bred in New England and was brought up Catholic so needless to say besides the religious aspect of Christmas I grew up believing in Santa Claus, Christmas trees and wishing people Merry Christmas during the season. We had Christmas parties in school and exchanged Christmas cards and Christmas gifts with all our friends and family.

Now I am an adult bringing up two girls of my own and it is so disheartening that they don't have Christmas parties in school anymore....if there is anything it is called a "Holiday Celebration" or a "Winter Celebration". Funny how during these types of celebrations however, Christmas cards are exchanged and Christmas gifts are still given to the teachers.

In addition, last year my second grader came home from school during December and we were talking about here music class....they were taught the Dradle song and a song celebrating Kwanzaa yet they didn't sing any of the typical Christmas songs we all know and love. If you are going to introduce them to holiday songs and celebrations for other religions then why not Christmas?? Now mind you, the majority of families that live in my town are Catholic and the going to my 's school are Catholic. Only a handful of families do not celebrate the Christmas holiday yet they felt it necessary to make the biggest stink about the holiday being discussed and celebrated in the schools....so the resolution was not discussing Christmas or making reference to Christmas but discussing and learning about the other holidays celebrated during this time of the year. They even refuse to put up any decorations in the school that may be construed as Christmas decorations. It is truly a sad thing when the majority of individuals suffer because of a few.

As if this wasn't bad enough, this year it has gone even further. A group of people in Boston actually threatened to sue the city if the traditional Christmas tree was called a Christmas tree rather than a "Holiday" tree. It has been tradition for years and years for people to cut down trees and display them in towns, cities and in homes with decorations and they have always been known as Christmas trees. They aren't "Holiday" trees...they are indeed a symbol of Christmas and therefore are and should be referred to as Christmas trees. If it looks like a duck and it walks like a duck it IS a duck. Needless to say I am very happy that a stand was taken and the tree in Boston is indeed still being called a Christmas tree. What's next, the lighting of the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center now becomes the Annual Lighting of the Holiday Tree? When and where does it end?

Anyway, I am sure some individuals will not be very pleased with my post however that is the beauty of freedom of speech. If individuals can make such stinks to change tradition that has been followed for years and years, I can definitely voice my dislike for these changes.

So a year ago if you asked me who Keith Urban was I would have been absolutely clueless!! I was born and bred in New England and needless to say Country Music is not on the top of most people's list around here. Heck I think we only just got a country music station on the radio within the last couple of years.

About 6 months ago however I heard of this guy and decided to check out his music. Needless to say I was shocked and pleasantly surprised that the music was great to listen to (and mind you he isn't bad to look at either). There is this whole new thing out there called Pop Country and let me tell you once you start listening to it, it becomes addictive.....so addictive that I actually decided to find out if Keith Urban was coming anywhere near New England for his Live in '05 Tour.

Well lo and behold he is coming to Amherst MA in November and I am lucky enough to say I scored INCREDIBLE tickets....5th Row Center Stage Floor Tickets...guess the only thing that would have been better than those would have been something in rows 1 thru 4 Now my only dilemma is getting hubby a bit more excited about going to this concert (he's going because of me of course but needless to say Keith Urban hasn't rubbed off on him quite the way he has on me

So....moral of the story....well there really isn't one but if you don't know who Keith Urban is and enjoy good music you might want to take a look and check him out sometime....there just might be a little bit of country in you too (Hey if it happened to me, trust me it can happen to anyone!!)

I Don't Get It....

I've been on and off VisionPersonals.com for quite some time now and am still so absolutely amazed at the number of profiles that use obviously fake photos. Seems whenever I decide to peruse new and/or old profiles I am forever running across the "Porn" pictures or better yet there are multiple profiles using the same photos.

Why do people do this? Are they just so embarrassed about who they really are that they need to hide behind this facade? Obviously they have no desire to meet anyone in person because if they did they'd have a lot of explaining to do.

I've also run into situations where people send pictures of themselves that are obviously from years ago. Imagine walking into a place to meet someone for drinks and not being able to recognize the person because they barely look like their picture.

I just find the whole situation so frustrating and disheartening. I now find myself being the consummate skeptic when it comes to photos and/or descriptions. I am finding it very hard to determine who is real and who isn't on here.

I know others of you have to feel the same way since I do receive emails that are prefaced by "If you are real".....Just another added frustration....having to justify to other skeptics that I am indeed real.

Well just thought I would share that with everyone.....let me know if anyone is going through the same types of frustrations I am....
