The paperwork required to complete the sale of a house is flabbergasting. It's like the world's most messed-up game of scavenger hunt. Go find the street address of your mortgage bank, which, by the way, is a mega-corporation and doesn't bother to put its actual street address anywhere on its website. Then go find account numbers for all of the utilities. Oh, but before you do that, go to your secret location where you keep all of your logins and passwords, so you can log into all of the websites in order to get this information. Then go look up information about FIRPTA so that you understand that you can be "not a non-resident alien" and "not a resident alien" at the same time.
As annoying as it is to play this little game, it would be far worse if I fail to sell my house because I didn't fill out a form correctly.

Occasionally, I write about the scammers and shills that appear on this site. It's been a while since I've done that, as there haven't been any interesting ones recently. It's almost entirely been fake accounts sending me flirts. They're pretty easy to pick out. 95% of them become disabled within 48 hours. This recent one, though, scares me.
It is a message sent to me from an account that claims to be a 45-year-old man. It even has a reasonable profile picture. I am a standard member and can't see profiles, so I can't tell you whether the entire contents look accurate. Here is the entire text of the message:

Sorry I used my friend's account... I want to edit my account but I don't know how to edit it..
I will be using this for a while , help me in chat ok? wanna make sure that this site is cool...

Almost believable. Almost. The first clue that this is fake is the sentence, "I want to edit my account but I don't know how to edit it." Patent bullshit. It doesn't matter if she (?) can't edit her profile. If she's a paying member, she could've sent the message under her own profile. If she isn't a paying member, she could've used that as an excuse.
There were three pictures attached. They might be the same woman. Maybe. They're all professional.
The reason this one scares me so much is the fact that the scammer is conceding that the account information isn't hers. Did she create (and pay for!?) an account and populate it with false info just to set up this introduction? Or has she hacked VisionPersonals.com and took over some poor paying customer's account? Or is VisionPersonals.com actually conspiring with scammers?

I've started keeping oranges in the fridge because I have had issues with having some of them go bad before I finish them. Today, my room is feeling pretty hot. Not as hot as that heat wave that is hitting most of the nation. But, still, I've been having thoughts of going to get some ice-cream bars except that I don't have the energy. Instead, I grabbed two oranges out of the fridge. They're sweet and cool.
...Ironically, they might give me the energy to go get some ice cream....

It's bad enough when I say something that hurts someone's feelings when I'm not paying attention. When I am in a situation where someone is expecting feedback, and I think carefully about how to deliver that feedback, and I still manage to cause pain, it make me wonder how the fuck I'm supposed to find someone I could spend the rest of my life with and not manage to murder or be murdered.

Three hours on the pedal exerciser apparently equals 1,626 calories. I need to burn those out because I overate on Sunday and didn't get a chance to exercise yesterday.

To new game plus or not to new game plus

I beat the final boss in "Suikoden IV" this morning. However, as is with any decent console RPG, I'm far from completing the game. Fortunately, it has a replay feature that allows me to carry over a lot of my stuff in a new game, like to "Chrono Trigger". Furthermore, if I recruit all 108 special characters (I missed four in this first playthrough), I can apparently import the save file into "Suikoden Tactics", which I would like to play next.
I'm just trying to find the motivation to keep playing. I'm very tempted to switch to another game now. But I know that if I switch now, it'll be some time before I come back to it. I also am trying to get in the habit of not replaying a game for a year after I stop playing it, so that I start thinking about playing some of the other 1500 games in my collection that I otherwise ignore.
...I suppose if I could just find a girlfriend, I wouldn't have time to play any of them....

There is a major deadline coming up at work for me at the end of this month. I may not be online as much as I'd like. It's possible that I'll be working evenings and weekends. Of course, software development "work" isn't quite as exhausting as, say, pouring concrete. I suppose, if my bandwidth holds out, I could do some of the work here at home and be online and on camera. I don't think I want to do that, though. There's too much temptation to goof off around here. It's also more difficult to juggle the home computer and the work computer when I don't have anything resembling an ergonomic work area.

Occasionally, I get pages from guys who see my hair and think that I'm trying to look like a woman. One man today said that it looked like I was wearing a woman's top. I had to correct him by saying it was a tank top.
I guess there are social circles where people aren't accustomed to seeing men with long hair. In my profession, software development, it's not particularly uncommon. I don't even stand out amongst my peers.

As you can see in this picture, I look pretty good when I suck in my gut. Still, I didn't make any progress in weight-loss. I weighed-in this morning at 218.5 pounds. I suppose that could be a positive thing, as it also means that I didn't bloat up during my break.

Usually, the weekends are a chance for me to get away from people and recharge. However, because I've had this week off, I was able to use yesterday and today to do that. So, I wouldn't mind a little company this weekend. Maybe someone would like to come over and visit? I'm even slightly tempted to invite some of the gay and bisexual men who occasionally chat with me, just for the company.

The hinge on my almost-six-year-old laptop has finally broken. Now, I can't keep the screen set without holding it with my hand or propping it against something. Unfortunately, the places where I want to use my old, decrepit laptop are the places where I don't have the ability to prop up the screen.
Although it's getting time to replace "the brick", I don't want to tie up any of my funds right now. I'm trying to sell my house in Vancouver and I expect to have to take a loan out in order to make that happen. At this point in my life, a personal (non-work) laptop is a luxury. It is especially so while I have a functional (albeit barely) laptop in my possession already.
I'm thinking about heading back to Seattle tonight. I'd like to get back to my recliner and my desktop computer.
