Back in April, 2010, I left my "permanent" job for a contract position because things had become unbearable. However, four months later, I was released due to budget reasons. After spending a month looking in the Portland, Oregon, area, I expanded my search. That landed me in Seattle, where I started my new job last November. However, that meant finding a place to live. I had 45 days in company-paid housing. I made an offer on a condo about fifteen days in. However, it was a short sale and the bank was dragging its feet. Without any idea of how long it would take, I moved into a hotel room after my time in company housing ran out. About four months later, the bank finally agreed. However, it took another month to get the deal closed. I finally received the keys on April 13th, but both the condo management and the moving company wanted two weeks' warning. So, I'm moving in on April 30th.

I haven't been particularly motivated to write anything in my blog recently. I don't know why. I'm still waiting to close on the condo I'm buying. I'm playing Magic about three times a week. I'm playing the Anthology version of "Final Fantasy IV" on the Playstation. I'm still 220 pounds. And I'm still pretty boring.

Setback

I was being told about two weeks ago that my condo would close on March 14th. However, there were some issues that cropped up and I was told that it may be another one to three weeks beyond that. Last word I had, which was last week, is that it might close this coming week. It's a pain because, without being able to predict, I chose to pay for another full month in this hotel room. I also am paying for the storage of my stuff. It's starting to get frustrating in not having my things available. Finally, without having a real kitchen, I have to buy meals rather than making them, which is both expensive and keeping my weight in the 220-pound range. That, incidentally, is why I've been less enthusiastic about posting pictures of myself.

I should be in my "permanent" residence in two weeks. Hopefully, having a kitchen again will allow me to carve into this belly once more. It'll also be nice to have my stuff back from storage.

"Utz Pub Mix" is awesome. I found out about it a couple of years ago when my manager in a previous job had budget for snacks. The snack money dried up and the mix went away. Until last week, when some showed up at a party and the leftovers showed up today. Pub mix, yes! I hope I can talk the powers that be into buying more. Pub Mix tastes better when it's free.

I'm in Oregon visiting my parents right now. They have mediocre bandwidth. Between that and, well, being at my parents, I don't expect to be on camera a lot. I'll be back in Seattle on Sunday.

Monday early evening, I went out to see a condo (it wasn't good). Played Magic last night. Went out tonight. That's why I haven't been online much, in case anyone cares. I'll probably be on tomorrow evening for several hours.
Honestly, I can use the rest.

Optimistic calorie counter

Ninety minutes on the pedal exerciser yielded a result of 750 calories on the computhingy. Either it is incredibly optimistic, or my old exercise bike's calculation was incredibly pessimistic, or perhaps a mix of both. In order to get that old bike to read 750 calories in ninety minutes, I'd have to sweat so much that it would drip onto the floor. Getting this done was leisurely.

Breaking in my new exercise machine

I'm around 220 pounds now, so it's time to make something happen. I ordered this pedal exerciser last week, and I was able to put significant time in on it today. I think that the calorie counter on this one is more optimistic than the one on my old exercise bike that I left behind in Vancouver, though. Also, since I'll be using it from a soft chair that I don't own, I can't sweat too much while using it. Still, I hope that I can use this for about an hour a day, six days a week, and work down this gut that I thought I had removed permanently.

Hopefully, these two talismans will fend off the sore throat that I have developed. Usually, I'm pretty good at getting sick at the right time, like weekends and vacations, so I don't have to worry about going to work sick.

Superbowl sex game?

Okay, here's an example of how I think. I don't have any Superbowl plans yet. However, I think it would be interesting to play a sex game with a woman during the game. The sex game would be similar to a drinking game, except that we would substitute sexual acts for the drinking. Each of us would represent a team. Whenever one team does something (like, say, score a touchdown, the person representing the other team would do something sexual (example, oral sex for two minutes) to the other.
Now that I've written it, I'm certain someone has come up with the rules for such a game and posted them on the Internet. I'm just too lazy to do a search. Not that I expect to find another player in time, anyway.

Usually, no matter who pages me or how rude the page is, I will accept it and politely say something like, "Sorry, but I don't show." (The lone class of exceptions are the obvious scammers.) However, just a few minutes ago, a 72-year-old man on Alt paged me. His introduction claimed that he was a dom looking for subs. His page was something like "show your cock to me" with several typos. I didn't have any patience. I accepted the page and replied, "Can't you read?". He immediately left my viewers list.
(My introduction on Alt right now reads: "(No show; hetero; not sub) Please page me if you'd like to chat")
