Today something good came about. I was on a conference call at getting really annoyed and ticked off. I even managed to tick the boss off! During this call, it was pointed out that we need to put in for our time off before we loose it at the end of the year. I had long since suspected that I had 5 or 6 days left so I had made me arrangements. Our company does not allow you to see the number of days off you have except for on your paychecks. Since I am direct deposit, I NEVER see my paycheck stubs.

So... on to the surprise. I do NOT have 5 days vacation left. I have 10 days vacation!!!! It looks like I will be taking lots of Fridays and even a couple of Mondays off!! Yippee!!!!

Now if only I could find a way to get this time off to come and see some of you.

Have a Great Thanksgiving everyone!!! {=}

Hello All!

I know for many of us, we will travel to places all over. There will always be the Aunt that kisses to much and pinches the cheeks when she sees you. Others will dread the long drive or simply go nuts with the traffic. For the lucky ones, you get to stay home and eat your hearts content and watch football. Whatever your plans are, I hope that you will stay safe in all you do. I guess it was 3 years ago now that my wife's sister cost us a trip to the emergency room. She had sever burns to her hand and wrist form getting a bit ...ok, I'll be nice... She had a bad accident with a turkey she was frying.Funny thing was about 6 months later, the same doctor treated her and recognized her from her burn mark when she sliced her leg open. yes... accident prone.

Sometimes it difficult to see all that we have to be grateful for but regardless of if you have lots or a little, have someone over and make someone feel welcome. There isn't much but I will always make room for a friend in need. Be blessed this holiday season.

Hugs,

Creating a monster

Apparently, we as parents (mom and dad) are creating a monster for a only .

It's not good enough that our is an only and has lots of loving family and friends that see him on a daily basis. We all take turns spoiling him. Mom and Dad are always the villains or at least most of the time anyway. It's pretty much the normal life with the 8 year old having such a hard and terrible life.

Our has been diagnosed with dyslexia. This is not a terrible thing mind you but we are learning more and more about it as we go along. Apparently, with his issue have difficult sleeping at night. He wakes up really scared. Their brains have a very vivid imagination and they have difficulty in processing what is a dream and what is reality. So we struggle with an 8 year old crawling into bed with us most nights.

Now more info comes from the himself. Seems a new reason for wanting to sleep in mom and dads bed is here. Several years ago, mom and I (thanks to me) found out what 800 and 1000+ cotton sheets feel like. Since I purchased the first set, we REFUSE to go back to anything less. Our has the typical Star Wars, Batman and Spiderman sheets. I don't know for sure but these things probably have a thread count of 150! Terrible things.... Our wants to sleep in our bed because he likes our soft sheets!!! Heaven help us??? What is this going to be like when he grows up??? LOL

Well the Saints are 10-0!!! Indy is 10-0 and we will see what Brady can do with the Jets. I'm counting on NE for the win. Dallas made a poor showing today and are not looking real well considering they are 7-3.

The boy is playing at a friends house this afternoon, and the wife it wrapping presents for the little man for Christmas. I'm bored and don't feel like riding. (That's a first)

I guess it's up to me to entertain my brain today. I hope all of you are having a great weekend. BTW - the cookies we baked for Mom last night were a big success!! Looks like we will be making more for Thanksgiving.

I went to bed late last night but I slept last night better than I have in a LONG time!! I have no idea what the difference was but I don't care. It's rainy and cold and the head is clogged up but I don't care. I SLEPT!!!

The wife is having a girls night to see Twilight this evening so the boy and I get to hang out. I wonder what sort of trouble we will find to get into.

It's it great to wake up and know that for a change there is not much that you HAVE to do today? Wash clothes is about it. I'm feeling a GOOD day coming!!! Have a great day all!

Often times, I think that I have lost my touch and even sometimes think I may even lost my sensuality. At times in my married, there seems to be this dark cloud that lingers over us and all there seems to be to our lives is the next bill to be paid. She next days work to complete and the next chore to finish. We get so wrapped up in our daily activities that we take for granted the needs of the ones we love. We assume that they will be there at our beckon call.

If enough time passes by, we loose sight of what is important in keeping a relationship fresh. we are so self absorbed that when that when that call does come, we may miss it. When we do, resentments start to grow. It's important to make time to find one another again. If you don't, we open ourselves up to total darkness.

Perhaps this is all an illusion created in my own head but I don't think so. This past summer, thanks in part to social networks similar to this one, I was brought back to a friend from high school that I have not seen since probably 1981. When I was a freshman, she was a senior and we didn't even go to the same school. Yet we were still friends through other friends. I did not feel I knew her that well then but as we talked, it was great to relive old memories. We opened doors to questions like why didn't we date or get to know each other better back then.

I had the opportunity to spend a couple of weekends with her during the summer. During our visits, we shared about our lives. The ups and downs. Perhaps it's a but strange but I can get so caught up in daily functions that I can loose track of who I am. In these couple of visits and much online chatting afterward, it's sort of nice to find me again and open the door and turn the light switch back on.It's amazing how far you can go in the dark but how much easier it is with the lights on.

It's nice to share with friends made on here at Passion.com and friends from my past and know that I have not lost any of the things that were so much apart of me. My passion for love and affection never went anywhere. My desires for sex as just as strong today as they were when I was a young man. That even though I have a partner that is missing out on the joys of sex, I have not lost my touch. I can still be a positive influence on others and be a contributor in my home and with friends. It's nice to feel alive again.

Without solitude, there can be no real people.

We all need some time alone. It's a good idea to set aside a few minutes every day to be alone with ourselves. This is a very special time that is all our own. It's a time to relax and refresh ourselves.

This goes for every member of the family, and it's important that we allow others some time for themselves. It shows them we respect, love, and care about them. Without that solitude, they cannot be truly themselves - and neither can we.

Nature teaches us that each thing, even the earth itself, needs a retreat. Bears hibernate; cats crawl off out of sight, even the plants disappear for the winter. It is this time that refreshes life for the Spring to come. If we want to have healthy, fulfilling relationships with each other, we all need time to ourselves every day. Without being "real people"--truly ourselves - how can we be full members of our family?

How can I better spend my time alone today?

Sacrificing and Settling

Sacrificing and settling are not synonymous. When you sacrifice, you give up something in order to gain something better. When you settle, you compromise on something while sacrificing your opportunity to get something better.
