Great Day for a Cook Out!

I said "Cook" out, with only 1 "C" in that word!
Gorgeous Fall weather here! Day time temps in the 75 to 78'F range (25'C), clear blue sky, and a gentle breeze! Just right for a get-together cook out!
Followed in the evening, with gathering by the campfire! Telling stories, singing, roasting s'mores.
Later, when the temperature goes down, and everyone else heads home, time to cozy up by the glowing embers with someone special for a while!
Would you believe there are places and countries around the world that set aside days, specifically for such things as this?
We certainly are a very sophisticated and enlightened species aren't we?

glowing ever brighter, burning ever hotter.

the orbs capture our dreams within them,

Exposing a Bit of Myself for Our Nude Bodies – As Art

Did the title pique your curiosity?
Well, I am exposing a bit of who and what I am, here in this post.
I happen to like to draw, using graded lead pencils, eraser and eraser shield, and stubs for blending.
Seeing a few portions of my work may demonstrate to you why I'm fascinated with the nuances and subtleties that lighting and shadows have on forms; and why it's an integral part of why I find our nude bodies so artistically appealing.
Drawing like this is a labor of passion for me. An 8" x 10" drawing takes upwards of hundred's of hours to complete.
Alas, my drawing muse has taken an extended hiatus, and I haven't done anything of this sort for at least the last ten years. I need an inspiration.
PS : I apologize for the poor quality of these. The process of getting the originals to this format here produced severe image quality degradation. Hopefully, there is still enough left for you to see what I'm talking about in terms of shading and form.

Our bodies are most definitely a work of art. A gorgeous creation, when viewed in its entirety. Yet, there is a deeper secret hidden tin there. Within each and every body, there are parts that hold beauty rivaling the highest forms of abstract art.
Focus. Concentrate. You'll see the magic happen!
Simple, elegant, deceptive, yet, seductive and captivating. Exquisite creations of beauty!
The most marvelous thing about this, each and every one of has these areas on our body, and each and every one of us can find and see these in others. Beauty is, indeed, in the eye of the beholder, ...and can be found simply by where they look!

A Leap of Faith!!! Done!!!!

All it took was walking forward 5 steps, ....
off a cliff edge that was only 2 steps away!!!!!
And I was up and away, soaring like Icarus, ever upwards into the clouds, the sound of the wind rushing over my ears like a hurricane, feet dangling free, walking on air!!!!!
So Free!!!!!!
Banked right, and floated high over the cliff tops paralleling the beach, joining others in our "flock" of gulls and gliders.
School of dolphins feeding below, a pod of whales breaching in the distance, soft puffs of their spray carrying across the waves.......
Banked left out over the ocean, then left again, headed back south down the coast. The sun ducks behind the clouds, showing the cliffs in their stark contrast to the expanse of sandy beach, and ocean waves.
A wig-wag salute at fellow fliers, as they pass by on their northern trek.
Bank left, heading inland, then bank right, again following the cliff line south. 180 turn heading back. Headed out over ocean gaining height as the landing zone approaches.
Turned back inland, followed by a series of graceful 360' turns in a slow spiral down to terra firma, and make a perfect one step landing.
Total Dist: 12 miles
Flight time: 37 minutes.
Memories : A Lifetime!

Last night, I went out for some oriental food.
After my meal, I got the customary fortune cookie, which I dutifully cracked open.
Much to my surprise, I had TWO fortunes in that one cookie!
I unfolded the first one. It read:
"You are talented with your hands".
I unwrapped the second slip. It read:
"You have a gift for making others smile".
Really????
So......Anyone interested in exploring whether there's any truth found in fortune cookies?

I first laid my eyes on her when I was 16! I knew at that first glance, she was someone special, someone who would rock my world, and change my life! I could feel the passion burning in my heart from that very first moment. Later, that passion grew, until it was joined by a fire in my loins.
We married, and we were on a perpetual honeymoon for 13 yrs. It was that kind of a special relationship that we had! We had everything we could possibly want! Everything, that is, except time. Her "life clock" ran out way too early.
I could easily have simply given up at that time. I almost did, were it not for a very special gift she had left me. The gift of not only knowing, but experiencing what love is; knowing that it is loving and laughing together with a special person that makes Life worth every minute of living.
That was when I met someone new; another woman, special and unique in her own ways, yet so similar to my first wife in others. She reminded me that my passion still burned hot in my heart, and the fire was still in my loins. Intensity like you'd never seen! It was good! Every single day of it!
30 yrs and two grown later, I find myself, here, knowing that there is still plenty of fuel left within me to power the white hot passion in my heart, and the fire which burns in my loins. Having known what love is twice, I know it takes but a single spark to ignite both; overwhelming me with desire, inspiring and propelling me to heights greater then I'd ever known before!

Our Nude Bodies - Part 4

As beautiful as the visions of the nude human body are, we, as a society, seem to have many “double” standards about the “acceptability”, or “appropriateness”, of the displaying of our exposed bodies and/or parts, especially in a public venue. These double standards extend beyond the differences of what is acceptable for men vs women, but what can be shown where and when! It seems we can't even decide amongst one gender what we would like for a universal code; one group of women seeks topless rights, while another group wants to end toplessness!
I'm not speaking of what's acceptable simply at a beach, although that is where the vast majority of places where exposing some skin is allowed. There are places, in addition to a beach, that are much more relaxed and permissive. The “Englischer Gartens” in the heart of Munich, Germany, (a public park much like NY’s Central Park), has allowed topless sunbathing since 1930's. In fact, in April of this year, Munich created 6 “urban full nude zones” within the city! Additionally, in February of this year, NY city police were reminded of a 1992 court ruling : “For simply exposing their breasts in public, women are guilty of no crime”!
Yet, even today, places/cultures exist around the world where it is frowned upon for even a man to remove his shirt in public!
So....what is society's hangup with toplessness and/or nudity? What does it originate from? Why?
Does nudity have to equate to sexuality? Is it a fear that the mere sight of an exposed female breast will drive all of us into a sex-crazed frenzy?
I've spent some time looking for “art” images of nudes that I thought I might use for this post.
While I looked up the top hundred or so images of the most famous, renowned, or acclaimed images of statues, paintings and photos of female nudes, something struck me. I then did the same for male nudes and noticed the same thing.
I'll share with you what my observation was, … but first, a “test... to see if my hypothesis holds up.
Without oogling or geegling the answer, name these 3 statues, and the creator of each one.
“The Kiss” … “The Thinker” … “Iris/The Messenger of the Gods”!

All completed between 1880 and 1891.
You probably named 2 of those statues, and perhaps the artist. But, did you identify the third, or even recognize that it was created by the same “famous” artist? This observation made me wonder “Why?”
Venus, Aphrodite, Helen of Troy, The Muses, Eve, Marilyn, on and on.... As I searched through the list, they all seemed to project an air of mystique and had a sensuous allure to them, without being overtly explicit. In fact, one has to go pretty far down on that list of famous art, before you find more “graphic detailed” presentations of the female body.
The same was true when looking for famous male nude artwork. David, the Thinker, Paris, the Satyr, The Kiss, and on and on. As with the female nude works, there was a sense of carnal sensuality, and masculinity to these works. And yet, although the penis is openly shown in these examples, it is seldom shown erect, until you get well into that list of famous works.
Now, just quickly off the top of your head, of all the “classic” paintings and statues you know, can you name any that show genitalia in graphic, explicit detail?
In fact, it seems that the more graphic and explicit presentations of males and females were indeed done specifically for the shock value the message would convey.
Was the appeal of the more generally renowned noted works created, in part, by the very mystery of what they didn't show?
Is there a subliminal, or subconscious, or subtle message here, implying an unspoken rule?
All things are permissible, …. under the appropriately proper place, time, setting, and manner.
Could this be one of the differentiations between art and pornography?

Remember everyone, today, AUG 24, is International "Go Topless" Day!
Show your support for women's right to choose what she does or doesn't wear, where and when! This movement is supported by a number of international women advocates groups!
However, this may be a good time to point out some contradictions of purposes and causes.
There has recently been some flap in the news about the "cover" photo on a Men's Clothing magazine that was recently mailed out as complimentary advertising. Earlier this month, there was an even bigger flap about the photo contents of another Clothing Catalog.
Interestingly, the most vocal opponents of these mags were women's advocacy groups! Their complaints were that the photos in question "sexualized, objectified, and sexploited" women and their image.
It does raise some interesting philosophical and theoretical questions.
If we were raised, and lived, in a society where women routinely went topless from spring through fall, when they felt like it, based only on their comfort, and simply matter of factly,......
would there really be anything to sexualize or exploit, or objectify?
Would there be any reason to go "gaa-gaa" over a pair of boobs, when you'd be seeing them everywhere, every day?

As beautiful as our nude bodies are, we live in a society that seems to have many arbitrary rules imposed upon us, regarding the “acceptability” or “appropriateness” of displaying our exposed bodies and/or parts, especially in a public venue. Furthermore, these rules are “double” standards, because of differences in what is considered acceptable for men vs women, as well as where and when! More importantly, what these rules and regulations do, is take away a woman's right to her freedom of choice in deciding for herself, if/when she is comfortable removing her top, or not. This could be for simple creature comfort, similar to what many Native American woman regularly did, during the summer months, up until the 1900's.
This particular day, Aug 24th, 2014, is set aside to advance the efforts to secure the legality of, and gain acceptance for, woman’s rights to go shirtless, just as men do, when and where they choose, just as men do. This event was started in 2007, and has since become an international observance. It is also being supported by several woman's advocacy groups.
FYI : For you New Yorkers out there: It IS totally legal to go topless anywhere within NY City and Central Park. The police have been issued notices that they are to no longer arrest any woman, simply for baring her chest. However, if you happen to take a photo of a bare chested woman, don't expect to post it to Tweeter, or Facey Place. It's against their decency policies, even though the activity is legal.

This issue with photos disappearing has been going on for 3 days now, and is, in fact getting worse! Not only are there grey pictures replacing photos, but, now, in some instances, there are NO images at all!!
Being able to view profile photos is a service which many members pay for, either with premium membership, or pay-per-profile view, or as a perk reward for having gone through several site-specified tasks.
Seeing photos in blog posts, and viewing the author of a blog post, is a feature that brings in, and keeps, many members here.
The VisionPersonals.com support and management teams should give some thought to the following.
In view of the fact that the above items are two major revenue makers, one would think this issue with the photos vanishing would be a top priority item, and would be resolved in a much more timely fashion than what is currently being done.
So what if this problem happened on a weekend! Bring the programmers in, and pay them overtime to fix it, if you have to!!! Worst case scenario is you simply "restore to a previous version", one that is known to perform this function correctly.
In fact, if you had good programming, tech planning/support, and business management models, it would be standard operating procedure to have set-up an off-line, mock, stand alone, "test" version, which is an exact copy of the "production" VisionPersonals.com code, to serve as a place where all changes are fully tested and verified BEFORE being released to the live production code. Had that business model been implemented and followed, this current fiasco would not ever have happened!!!! The other part of a good business model says you never do updates the day before a weekend! That's just plain common sense!!!
I have one simple question for VisionPersonals.com now.
What are the plans VisionPersonals.com has to compensate those of us who have "paid" to be able to view photos, when those photos, due to an VisionPersonals.com glitch, are simply not there!
Maybe we should all band together, call accounting and ask them this question?
