What parties and festivities do you have in store for yourself this month?
- My boss is hosting his 2nd annual Grand Soire
- My union is hosting a Toys For Tots party with marines invited to pick up the toys. There was mention of how good looking they would be.
- My friend is holding her annual cookie swap (this is the 20th year in a row). I need to figure out a unique cookie to bake. Oh no, there goes the clean oven.
- My husband has a command holiday party with the he is working for, so I'll be getting a little free time for myself.
- Here is a new one, there is a Christmas baby shower for a girl expecting at work. She has friends that believe in multi-tasking.
- And last, but certainly not least, I'm hoping (reservedly) that my very very special friend can escape and find time to do something special with me.

I can't recall the number of times I've felt under the weather in the past few months. There is nothing seriously wrong, but I just always seem to have a stuffy nose, scratchy throat, ear ache, sore feet, pain in the back, tummy trouble, or something.
I'm beginning to feel like a hypochondriac. Definitely sound like one!
Today, my ailment is an itchy eye and redness. Last night I cleaned the oven using that self cleaning feature. I thing some sort of particles got into the air and irritated the eye (which was just recovering).

Last night I received an invite out to dinner from my husband. Of course we eat out fairly regularly, but this was different. This was a "date", the was not invited, we were stepping it up a notch. It meant I would dress for the event, and there would be "date" behavior.

We all have songs that just speak to us, for we like the rhyme, or the alliteration, or perhaps the metaphor. Whatever it is, there are lyrics that just stick in our minds for very long times.
Tell me, what lyrics do that for you?
The song that I remember from very early childhood is "gonna dance with the dolly with the hole in her stocking". I mentioned it to my mom recently and she reported that I cried every time I heard it on the radio.

At work the other day, at lunch time, I gathered with co-workers in an office to eat lunch. There was more than a handful of people, the conversation was cheerful and light. I'm here for a variety of reasons. I think those reasons have changed over time.

I can't begin to pay attention to those alerts. There was a time that I caught at least half of the alerts that came in, but now they come in too fast. I would be spending the entire day just looking at them. Makes me wonder why the function is even in place. After all, on your homepage you can view all of that same information pretty much.

Hudson Highlands Park/Dennings Point

My is always after me to exercise and preferably outdoors. The 60 degree weather and sunshine gave opportunity for an autumn hike this afternoon. So, we headed to Dennings Point in the Hudson Highlands Park.
It's a flat trail with fairly few roots to trip you up. There are awesome views of the Hudson River, Breakneck Mt, and Storm King Mt. It's quiet and serenely peaceful. We enjoyed the songs of small birds, identified trees and shrubs, and found owl pellets.
I hiked a fair amount of the trail alone (the climbed down a cliff and I decided continue walking slowly and they'd catch up). During the time I was alone, I thought about how romantic the trail is.
