I want to pay tribute to a veteran that passed away six months ago. Memorial Day was his favorite holiday. Each year he participated in the color guard at his local ceremony to celebrate the lives lost in service to our country.
I know he's sitting up in Heaven with other fallen heroes and discussing war stories.
He was as American as apple pie! He thrived on baseball, rock music, lame jokes, hanging with the guys at the local bar, and trying to get laid.

This date has always remained in my mind since childhood. There must have been a lot of mention of the date leading up to it. It's the date that I made my "First Holy Communion".
Funny that the date still sticks in my head, I am no longer a member of that religion.
