Last night we attended our last concert of the summer; Lynyrd Skynyrd and Bad Co.
I realize I have attended an exclectic mix of concerts in my lifetime. What concerts have you attended?

Was anyone else at the Eagles Concert last night?

Bethel Woods was packed to the rafters. I've been going to concerts there for years now and "sold out" usually refers to them selling out the reserved seating. However, last night they also sold out the lawn. There wasn't a patch of green to be seen, and people were standing on the walkways throughout the concert.
I was lucky to have a seat, in what they called the "rear orchestra" last night, but usually call the "bleechers". LMAO, I never knew that seating was subjective to the caliber of concert.
We paid $165 for last nights "nosebleed" seats, whereas, a few weeks ago I could almost touch the stage for $75. And honestly, I was more awed struck seeing Joan Baez than I was seeing any of the Eagles. I know, my taste/opinions do not run parallel to the mainstream.
There is a side story I need to tell. In front of me were a couple and their autistic . Throughout the show the parents tried tiredlessly to engage their . Their energy, effort, and over-exaggerations were not lost on any of us nearby. It was only during "Heartache Tonight" that the boy's body unstiffened. He stood and danced up and down in place, and at one point turned and spoke to his parents for the first time all evening. The parents beamed!

Tonight's title is an entire response to my blog question of yesterday. Shifgrethor (which I have been meaning to find out what that means), posted it, and it struck a chord with me.
In my youth, I would hop on that Schwinn traveler and ride off to my favorite place in the world (at the time) and daydream. I could imagine I was driving a fast car, or riding in a speeding train, or sitting atop a graceful . I could be as far away as my imagination could imagine. Back then, imagination and books were my only window out to far away places. There was no internet, no 2000 channels on "Dish", and I had only travelled as far as the tri-state area.
I spent hours upon hours in this county park. Wordsmith intrigues me with talk of his "little town". I wish I felt that way about someplace. Yet, perhaps I do. This park was my world. It was were I spent all my leisure time; sometimes I just hung with friends, had a picnic, or got involved in some sport (ice skating on the lake, sledding on the hill, softball, and that sucker's game of football), lazed in the sun, swam in the pool, fished, rock scrambled, climbed trees, or rode my bike.
I haven't been there in twenty-five years. Somehow, I think too much has changed. I'm afraid that it's probably mostly me.

My husband has a busy 4th planned for us. He plans for us to begin by making some fireworks of our own. Having a backyard bbq (which I know in my heart will end up rained out and becoming a kitchen mess). And then gallivanting over toward the river to watch fireworks.

To all the men out there that are the perfect father's to their , I wish you all a very happy Father's Day.
Personally, my Dad was a grade A "crank". And he had more in common with Archie Bunker than he did with any other TV dad.
However, I grew to realize that his crankiness was because he was tired. He worked long hours at his full time job and then more hours at various odd jobs. All in order to support his family. And he managed on a blue collar job, to keep in a middle to upper middle class life style. We truly wanted for nothing.
And as for the Archie Bunker facade,it was just that. I will never know why the facade, but I know he was a good man. I hope I turned out to be a woman he'd be proud of.

Nothing new to report. It's been work, work, and more work. I get to go into work late today. So, I took my morning shower and decided to check out the computer.

I was okay during the day at work, but the evenings were torture for me. I soaked in cold water. Placed ice on my forehead, neck, and nipples (okay, that was just to be naughty. Then I laid on a bed in front of a fan to dry and cool off. The only body contact I allowed my husband during the heatwave was fellatio.

I've been absent for a week. We had a heat wave here and needed to turn on the air conditioning for the first time this season, only to find out that the compressor needed to be replaced. It took them a week to get the necessary unit. In the mean time, it was too HOT to sit up in my small office at my computer.

How are you spending the day?
I plan on spending the day low key, but all American. We've been listening to music and will soon fire up the grill. I'm all about no stress and relaxing today.
Hamburgers and Steaks on the menu, along with salads, watermelon, apple pie, and chocolate chip cookies.
I might hit the cookies before the meal. Yum yum when soft and gooey.
