Memories on Family Day

There's always one person that you come across in your life that you will never forget and yes there is one for me..
I was living in Stratford for a short while, young and wanting to see other places other then the deep north.. I got an invite to move there from a friend and didn't hesitate to pack up and head out..
I got a job almost as soon as I got there in this huge dance bar as a bottle girl and I handled a long bar so there was never any lack of chit chat with different folks 3 nights a week.
In my first week working, this tall, good looking guy named Louis and a friend leaned on my bar and ordered a beer, didn't take long before I was batting my eye lashes and was in lust..
After a lot of flirting he waited around to walk me home.. Once there he kissed me long and deep and promised to see me soon..
It took almost a week before I saw Louis again and when that handsome guy leaned up against my bar again, I knew I had to have him and there wasn't nothing I wouldn't do..

One day he showed up at my apartment and broke my heart by telling me that the girl he was dating prior to me is pregnant and he was from a devout religious family and it is now his duty to marry her, I was truly devastated..
My heart was broken and I was very lonely for him, I wanted him to be with me... I heard from mutual friends that they were planning their wedding and bought a house in a neighboring community, I also knew my time in Stratford was up and it was time to head back north, there was nothing left in Stratford for me..
Today I smile cause I'm happy it worked out the way it did and I never would have had the memories I do now but 25 years later, I still wonder if he is happy, content and if he really did make the right decision?
Is there one person that you came across in your life that left a lasting memory???

It's fucking cold over here again and was planning on going into work for an hour to give a co-worker a hand with some admin work but waking up to -33, I think I will stay indoors today....

I usually love this time of the year and remind all those attached men to make sure you make her special tomorrow which rightfully you should.
This year I guess I'm feeling a bit left out and wishing tomorrow I was being treated a little bit more special but unfortunately its not going to happen and that's ok, I will make the most of Vday and decided after my meeting tomorrow, I am going to stop and pick up some nice flowers and enjoy that.. I think I deserve a treat every once in awhile..
Besides feeling a wee bit sorry for myself, I had a long week and glad its almost over hence a meeting but it is a long weekend here and got to think what I want to do cause this sitting around home most weekends is starting to get to me, I'll figure out something and find my valentine..

Life is treating me well this morning if I do say so myself

Ok I'm not a football person at all and of course it seems to be on every channel on this Sunday night but I guess if people have to put up with my hockey then I can put up with football but I don't have to like it

Ok I know this is a different subject but being the curious person I am, I just need to know...
