Fly with Eagles

Today was my uncle's funeral.

They held a viewing on Monday as the funeral was closed-casket, but I didn't go in. I stayed in the lobby so I could be there for mom. Tuesday the bar he hung out at held a wake for him and there were nearly 50 people there, standing room only.

He was a Vietnam Vet so he was buried in a Veteran's Memorial Cemetery with full honors, my surviving uncle was presented with the flag and medals etc. The 3 gun salute during the services made everybody jump even though we knew it would happen.

Whether you believe in Spirit Animals or not: His was the eagle. Every wall, every shelf, was covered in eagles, he was so drawn to them.

Incidentally the entrance to the cemetery has two huge eagles. And on the front page of today's newspaper was a huge photo of an eagle (the pastor mentioned the coincidence during services). And apparently they sometimes see eagles flying around the cemetery.

That's how I view him now: flying with eagles.

I HAVE NO POWER...

I have no power to change you
or explain your ways
Never believe a man can change a woman
Those men are pretenders
who think
that they created woman
from one of their ribs
Woman does not emerge from a man's rib's, not ever,
it's he who emerges from her womb
like a fish rising from depths of water
and like streams that branch away from a river
It's he who circles the sun of her eyes
and imagines he is fixed in place

I have no power to tame you
or domesticate you
or mitigate your first instincts
This task is impossible
I've tested my intelligence on you
also my dumbness
Nothing worked with you, neither guidance
nor temptation
Stay primitive as you are

I have no power to break your habits
for thirty years you have been like this
for three hundred years
a storm trapping in a bottle
a body by nature sensing the scent of a man
assaults it by nature
triumphs over it by nature

Never believe what a man says about himself
that he is the one who makes the poems
and makes the
It is the woman who writes the poems
and the man who signs his name to them
It is the woman who bears the
and the man who signs at the maternity hospital
that he is the father

I have no power to change your nature
my books are of no use to you
and my convictions do not convince you
nor does my fatherly council do you any good
you are the queen of anarchy, of madness, of belonging
to no one
Stay that way
You are the tree of femininity that grows in the dark
needs no sun or water
you the sea princess who has loved all men
and loved no one
slept with all men… and slept with no one
you are the Bedouin woman who went with all the tribes
and returned a virgin
Stay that way.'

I really enjoyed reading this.

On Kissing

The best kisses begin with something outside the technical term of kissing. The electric touch of a lovers eyes meeting across a room. A hint of smile to make your heart skip a fraction. Perhaps an indrawn breath when the moment becomes clear that a kiss is inevitable. That fraction of a moment before the kiss actually begins, the tingling awareness of energy moving... that's where it begins.

Here's to thousands of new beginnings.

Softly, softly
a shadow passing
hearts
breaking in the dawn
love has passed,
love has passed.

Incomplete poem... one of my friends just distracted me from the moment.

On top of everything else... an ex who was trying to maintain friendship with me despite an agreement with his new woman "No contact with exes" just cut me from his life. I felt, despite the "no texting" rule he'd put in place, that one text to let him know of my uncle's passing wouldn't be amiss. He did, after all, know my family. Attended many family events over the years. And he has gotten mad at me for not sharing important "big" news before - "You're supposed to tell me when things like that happen!!" (I figured this counted - and yes, he's scolded me even in his new relationship). And I sent ONE text at a time he had made it sound that he was always home alone with his new baby. Apparently she was there and my one text nearly destroyed their relationship.

Ironic, how once he got pissed at me for even talking with men that entertained the notion of telling me to stop being friends with male friends, exes or otherwise. We had quite a few discussions about the issue.

Now I guess all that's left is trying to get the $50 he owes me back.

Oh... and despite his "no texting" rule and all that... he texted me two weeks ago to stop by his apartment when I got off work. Or before work. He was there alone for the day packing up his belongings to move out and tried convincing me to have sex. (His was the scruffy face I had to rub against in my Celebrity Crush post).

Yes: I was in the wrong to text him after he had specifically said "no texting" (though keep in mind he texted me after said rule was in place too). Still... I would have thought, being the text was "just to let you know so-and-so died" would have been forgiven by anybody but the most insecure or a psychopath. Apparently she's of the "most insecure" variety. And reads all of his texts.

Whatever.

Is it bad of me to partially hope he's as miserable in his new life as he makes it sound? Apparently he totally hates his job, his hours, his cat is totally stressed by the other pets in the house, he has no space, no privacy. He gets almost no sleep. And I know, before having a baby, he totally hated . At best he tolerated them. I'm sure, despite loving his , that this stresses him out too.

I know that's just my hurt talking. The other part of me does wish him happiness. Also this is what my "How do you expand love past hurts and broken relationships and friendships, past expectations and disappointments" post was about a few weeks to a month ago. I believe I touched upon it in blog form, though I also messaged a few friends privately for their words of wisdom.

"Friend who shall remain nameless" thank you for distracting me today. It has helped on numerous levels. And please don't psychoanalyze me too hard for this post

I'm sure nobody on this site is as stubborn and "Oh, I'll get better, don't need to see a doctor" as my family is... but just in case:

Please, please... if something seems wrong please go see a doctor. Don't wait weeks to go in.

Just to leave it simply... I just lost a very dear family member because he was sure he'd get better if he just gave it another few days, or a week... and last night a gas station insisted he go to the hospital and called an ambulance for him. An hour or so later (1am 12/11) he died of pneumonia.

It hasn't really set in yet. I figure it probably won't until Christmas... when he's missing.

We should have gone right after Thanksgiving and insisted he see a doctor... but he told us he was getting better, and he was working and keeping on with his life. Apparently friends and neighbors that saw him every day tried getting him to see a doctor on a daily basis and he just laughed at them.

Anyhow... please don't wait on your health. And let those you care about know how you feel.

Christmas Carols

I'm getting all excited for Christmas this year.

Yeah, yeah, I know... "But DSK... you don't celebrate Christmas." Except I still kinda do. I believe, beyond the religious, it's also a cultural thing.

I received 4 packages in the mail today (OK: no idea when they showed up, I picked them up today) and was so anxious to open them I dragged them with me into the Indian restaurant for lunch. The friend I was with laughed at me. 3 were a variety of hand-crafted and bought items from craft-swap partners. And one was a book I won online - but it's about a Calico named KeeKee that travels to Greece. And it's AUTOGRAPHED.

Cats. World Travel. Autographed book. Three wins (I collect autographed books. Kinda)

One of the packages also contained cat-nip toys for Sassy. When I got home she snooped in the bag as usual and immediately found the nip and tried tearing the bag apart to get to it.

The friend I was with laughed at me getting so excited over packages in the mail. On the bright side: He was depressed. Sometimes even a moment of laughter is enough to help pulling somebody out.

What are some of your favorite Christmas Carols?

I just discovered today that I really love Sting singing "I saw three ships come sailing in". Seriously? Bagpipes... accent... fun bouncy song...

"We Three Kings" is also one of my favorites. It seems there is a different name for that carol but I'm not searching for it.

Happy Commando Wednesday!

For once I did NOT participate. So yeah - there's a secret out in the open: If I happen to think about the fact that it's Wednesday I skip the panties. In solidarity with my morning commute country music morning show that celebrates "Go Commando!" every Wednesday. Other days it's because I'm in a hurry and just really don't feel like taking the extra few steps to reach into the dresser.

Apparently the crazy rush and 20 hours of OT I managed to get pre-Thanksgiving paid off. Upper management was celebrating the fastest post-holiday catch up in company history (at least on my team). My boss commented that I have a week's worth of very little work to do -- but when I suggested I get a week off work to celebrate he said no.

Bosses... no fun ever hahaha (no offense to any readers in management and I know you can be fun ). That said: I will still have more than enough work to keep myself busy from the time I show up to the time I leave, even if I stay late.

Do you feel your writing or language style is distinctive? We once had a company-wide presentation of "what not to do" and... one of the 10 examples was mine. Even though they blanked out name, account number, and the name of the person who posted the account -- it was so clearly mine. Good news: it was only a "little bit" wrong AND there were extenuating circumstances which made what I did the only possible way to handle it.

This week is going by way too fast. Can you believe it's almost 2015? Um... actually I'm going to stop thinking about that now. I can wait a few more weeks to worry about that.

*UPDATE*

Have you heard of "SlapHappy" yet? It's a new vibrator currently in funding and production stage (they're doing public internet funding). Go.ogle it and watch the video... I haven't laughed that hard in weeks. Not that there's anything wrong with the product but the guy is very enthusiastic about what he's selling lol.

What I Need

I finally decided. What I need, more than anything, is a TARDIS. Fully functional.

Transporter Beams are nice and all but... with the TARDIS I could, literally, be in two places at one time. While I have done just that before (I took two classes simultaneously - they were outdoors, right next to one another, so I sat halfway between the two and jumped back and forth as needed)... bigger tasks and greater distance could be had with use of a TARDIS. Not to mention the whole Time/Space thing.

Good Morning...

Deeply sleeping, my dreams suddenly change. A fluttering along my awareness, and I duck into a side door pulling my partner behind me and shut the door. Listening as our pursuers continue past, I suddenly gasp at the warm breath against my clit as my dream-clothes suddenly disappear.

You smile up at my still sleeping form as you blow gently against my clit, laying between my legs attempting to wake me gently. Licking softly along my labia, nudging lightly between, then up to clasp my clit between tongue and lip, teasing gently. You chuckle warmly as I begin to squirm and whimper in my sleep. One artful tug and my pussy floods with sudden wetness and I moan... then gasp and moan again as I awaken.

"Oh, hell!" I whisper...

Another deep chuckle and a "good morning!" is all the warning I get before you deepen the assault.

Biting the inside of my thighs, cupping my ass as you kiss then bury your tongue deep, tasting and teasing. Nibbling slowly and gently over my labia you catch my clit between your lips again and bury your fingers deep inside my pussy as you suck and tongue my clit.

I begin writhing against you, simultaneously pressing closer and trying to edge away... arching against your mouth. You look up at me, my head tossed back, squeezing my own nipples, hands caressing my skin, then reaching to clasp you closer, and back again..

"Please..." I whimper...

You ignore me, and continue. Pressing your fingers just right you make me cry out, and again... sensations overwhelming as my body starts squirting lightly and flooding your hand, your mouth, your chin, the bed...

Kissing my inner thigh again, then up my belly, I reach to pull you up quicker. Meeting your lips with mine... kissing you hard and deep, tasting the sweetness of my juices upon your lips... smelling me upon you...

You roll onto your back as I lean over you, still kissing.

Breaking the kiss I gaze into your eyes, mutually hot with hunger and passion, my lips and breath tremble as I lightly battle the wanting. How... how do I want? So many options... I go for the easiest and clasping your cock I tease lightly over the tip... rocking lightly, then ease down an inch... teasing us both a moment but I can't stand it and suddenly thrust down, burying you deep.

We both cry out in pleasure as I tighten around you.

Leaning forward I catch your lips again, leaning on my elbows as we kiss and rock against one another, your arms around my back... then sliding down to clasp my butt and hips and guide me harder against you.

Sitting up, I toss my head back, my hair caressing over your thighs and balls... I rock and thrust against you as I play with my breasts and nipples. You grasp my hips and help guide the depth and the speed.

Changing position I lean forwards again, my clit pressed against your pelvic bone as I continue the guided thrusting against you.

Suddenly I cry out as you tighten inside me... "oh god, I'm going to cum!" you moan as my body starts quivering around you. I love that tightening... Suddenly you cry out and thrust deep. I cry out as my body is pulled along with yours into orgasm.

Collapsing against your chest, you hold me while I giggle, my body trembling with aftershocks, your fingers buried in my hair.

Smiling, I mumble "Good morning to you, too, sir" then giggle again.

Snuggling close, our bodies still entwined, you hold me as we both drift off to sleep again. It is, after all, a beautiful and lazy Sunday.

Some Things That You May Not Know About Me

4 jobs that I've had:

I: Assistant Manager at a Taco John's
II: Night Auditor in a hotel (incidentally this site came in handy. Guy causing a ruckus thought he'd be funny, stripped before opening the door buck naked... just one more naked dick. Only change I'd make is I wish I'd actually laughed at him showing off something "that tiny"... but I was professional, disdainful, aloof. NOT shocked or embarrassed).
III: Computer Operator for a photography studio (BEST JOB EVER)
IV: Accounts Receivable for multi-state furniture/mattress company

4 places where I've lived:

1: California (Born in Redding)
2: Spokane, WA
3: Coeur d'Alene, ID
4: Spokane, WA again (but Idaho is "Home")

4 T.V. shows that I'm currently following:

I: Doctor Who (Friends finally made me watch)
II: Supernatural
III: Castle
IV: Law and Order: SVU

4 places that I've been to:

1: Niagara Falls (Canada side)
2: Columbus, OH
3: Washington, DC
4: Cairo, Egypt (and Alexandria)

4 people who email me regularly:

I: AB
II: DM
III: RM
IV: DW
V: CM (Don't want to leave this friend out)

two are real initials, three are user name initials. Either way I probably should ask permission before linking. Then I'd have to look up user names too lol.

4 of my favorite foods:

1: Egyptian Koshary
2: Pomegranates
3: Huckleberries
4: Fresh Pineapple

4 places that I'd rather be:

00110001: On a mountainside in early summer
00110010: In a lovers arms
00110011: On a plane traveling somewhere
00110100: In my dream home, on my own piece of land.

4 things that I'm looking forward to in 2015:

New friends, new foods, new experiences, new adventures. Travel.
Specifically:
-Ireland
-London
-Stonehenge? (maybe maybe???)
-San Diego
-Mexico (visit my high school pen pal. We still keep in touch)

4 books that I've read:

2: Louis L'Amour "The Walking Drum"
3: Lucia St Clair Robson "Ride the Wind"
5: Louis Ferrante: Mob Rules
7: Jim Butcher: Dresden Files (entire series)

4 hobbies:

1: Archery
2: Reading
3: Exploring the culinary world past and present, from 800's through current, all cultures. And sometimes creating odd yet delicious ethnic fusion dishes. Sadly I don't remember what they are. But they were good.
4: Learning new things. Covers 1000 hobbies.

Four movies I've seen more than once:

1: The Princess Bride
2: Labyrinth
3: Dirty Dancing
4: Bandits (with Bruce Willis, not the German one - though I saw that too)

Some polls had "4 unusual places you've had sex" but... I think mine aren't that unusual lol. But... ah well. Here's that list too:

1: Outside on the deck of a house under a full moon
2: Beside the car behind some trees off the side of the freeway
3: Sex on the living room floor isn't so unusual... but foreplay in every room of a 2-story apartment (strip tag)... that was tons of fun
4: .... hmm. Guess I need help with this one. Don't have a #4.
