I Know I Keep Going On...

I know I keep going on about poetry and stuff but, you have to understand, it's one of my favorite things in this world.

I don't have to explain or make excuses (not to be rude or anything), but when you see me actually spend that much money on something (classes) then you know I'm really serious about it.

And when I come across someone who writes something beautiful, I just have to "big it up!"

I do love reading poetry, mainly to appreciate someone’s way with words; but I also read poetry with the hope that I can better understand the thought processes behind the way they put their words together and, hopefully, improve my own.

Originally, I came on VisionPersonals.com with the hope that I could maybe get to have great sex with strangers, maybe even meet some beautiful women. But I've never really made an attempt to hook-up with anyone, and usually the people trying to hook-up with me (men, women, and couples) are like far, far away.

Hell, I'm probably the only one on VisionPersonals.com who has never initially reached out to someone else on the site! So, no outside sex for me!

So I get what I can!

And what I can get is to read poetry other than my own, write about people's poetry, or just about anything that appeals to me; plus, I get to look at a lot of nudes (another favorite past-time), and look at the many different shapes, size, and designs of vaginas that exist in this world.

I was looking at a girl yesterday, “turn around and follow her with my eyes” looking; man, talk about legs, talk about ass! And at 6’ 2” she didn’t need those heels! But those heels created an effect.

How could I not stare?

I was talking to another lady while I’m doing this (just someone I knew casually) and when I turned around, there was this other lady looking at me, disgust printed all over her face.

I started laughing and, in my mind, I’m thinking: “Fuck you! If you looked like that I would stare at you too!”

Damn!

Even if she didn’t look like that, once she looked good I would still look at her.

It made me realize that I’ve been kind of hiding my glances when I chose to stare at a beautiful woman, because the women around me seem to think that a man is lusting when he stares at a woman.

That was stupid. I am a man, and men love beautiful women; men stare at beautiful women, even when they’re married to a beautiful woman. Why should I hide the fact that I stare at beautiful women (and I’m not just talking about a beautiful face; which doesn’t mean much as far as being a human being goes).

So now I have one more thing to be a renegade about.

I will unashamedly stare at all beautiful women that cross my path. I will stare at and smile when I cross paths with a woman that attracts me; as long as they don’t realize that I’m looking.

In the end, the only opinion that matters is theirs, and I’m not doing this to make them uncomfortable!

Of course, if another woman chooses to be uncomfortable by the fact that I’m ogling a beautiful woman, that’s on her, nothing to do with me!

Call me shallow, call me a pervert, call me anything. Call me TEYJJ!

You can keep your “Sons of Anarchy”, your “Breaking Bad,” and even your “Game of Thrones!” The best show on television right now, regardless of what the 18-39 demographic loves to watch, is “Person of Interest.”

This “Bad Robot” (J.J. Abrams) production is well-written, exciting, and dare I say, violent. When I saw that this was going to be a Jonathan Nolan creation, I just jumped in based on the track-record of his brother, Christopher Nolan.

You’ve all heard me gush before about Christopher’s thought inducing movies “Memento”, “Inception”, “The Illusionist,” and I think a lot of you have seen “The Dark Knight Trilogy.”

So, without concerning myself too much with logic, I kinda figured, with his little input and Jonathan’s involvement, that it would be interesting enough for me to invest my one hour each week in this show.

I won’t try to break it down the way critics do. But I’m never disappointed. And it’s nice to see the ladies getting involved in the shenanigans.

If you find it strange me getting so worked up about a serialized television show, remember, you are looking at the ramblings of a man who still reads books about Fairies and Witches, and magic and Wizards.

Let’s go, Dresden! (Private joke. Some might get it, some mightn’t!)

Normally I would think this is the wrong day for this, but it's the right week and, if I wait any longer, it will be the wrong week and the wrong day!

So:

I was just looking at a blog by Koffla in [blog Koffla] in which he created his own 'avatar bitstrip' [post 3273613], one that commented on the amount of veterans lost each day to suicide; and I just had to not only mention this, but hope that others see it and realize and create enough noise that someone might take notice.

It may be a lot to ask for but one can only hope.

Koffla did his part bringing it to our attention, I'm trying to add my bit, and maybe if enough try to spread this information how far can we hope to go.

Stranger things have happened!

I try not to get too serious in the things I post but, as I noted on his blog:

...I know this must have been mentioned a million x 1000 times already, maybe even before I was born, but isn't it a strange society where you are forced to leave your job and go off to war (to defend a country where the politicians who started the war stash their off in safety so they don't have to go rub shoulders alongside the poor schmuck who had no choice), and when you return home there is no job waiting for you, no infrastructure in place to rehabilitate you from the ravages of war, and nobody who even cares enough to say: "Without these people we would be crushed under the boots of those who would deprive us of our hard-earned freedom? Let corporate America come together and do something!"

There are people who claim to love poetry but they never really read any. I sometimes have that problem although, for me, it's a bit different.

For most people who claim to love poetry, they just can't be bothered to read it, for whatever reason. I'm guessing here, but I would say that, among the reasons; they have other things that they would prefer to do, they don't find enough excitement in it the way they would a story, they figure they will come back to it, etc.

John Milton
(Paradise Lost)

My reason for not reading poetry sometimes is that I want to read everything from everybody and sometimes I become overwhelmed because I know, even if I dedicate the rest of my life to reading them, that there are just too many great poets for me to complete such a task.

Of course, I could pick a style and do everybody that practiced that style but I've never been able to channel just one of any thing because I'm aware of just how much I'm missing out on.

Fortunately, for me (I say that a lot, don't I ) there are quite a few bloggers here who like to submit poems from a lot of the greats here in their blogs on VisionPersonals.com, and I love that because I get to discover great poems (and even greater poets) that I might never have discovered.

One such blogger is Greyblue1 who, on his blog The Road To Perdition features some wonderful nudes but, even greater, poems from some of the great poets that I would never normally see.

I'm glad for this and hope he'll do this for a long time; and here's why: it solves my problem right there, because now I can read a poem or two each day at my own leisure, and not have to rush through the way I do with books.

I know I'm not the only one who reads these poems. I hope Greyblue1 and all the other bloggers who include these poems in their blog will continue to do so, and I hope I'll find those bloggers that I've not yet discovered!

And if you truly have a love of poetry then that is a blog that you should visit; get to read something from all the greats.

Thanks to last night's snowfall and this morning's icy roads I thought it would be nice to try to compose another Haiku, just to do something different:

Snow under cover of night
Makes the roads icy.
Darkness makes you slip on ice.

In case you missed it, the submarine on the other side of the pier from The Intrepid is relatively new.

Thought I would highlight it in case anyone missed it!

As a former British subject it's so right for me to honor the memories of those who gave so much for folks like myself.

Veteran's Day is also Remembrance Day, Armistice Day (or Poppy Day) in Commonwealth countries (considered the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, which formally ended hostilities during World War 1).

A poem would be ideal but in it's absence a picture which, as they say, is worth a thousand words. Although the Intrepid was not around for service during WW1 it is still appropriate for today:

The Rolling Stones vs. Led Zeppelin

Every now and then I write something about some of my favorite group/performers, Prince, Boston, Led Zeppelin, Jimi; but I am just realizing I've never posted anything about the Rolling Stones, one of my all-time favorite group.

I mention this only because I made an amazing discovery yesterday: I have more Stones CD than any other performers except Bob Marley and the Wailers.

I just got a new Jimi CD (People, Hell, and Angels) and was trying to place it with the rest of my Jimi CDs when I kept coming across Stones CD; so I took a check.

I found that I have (in no particular order) Beggars' Banquet, A Bigger Bang, Exile on Main Street (both the regular and Deluxe editions), Forty Licks, one called Grrr!, which is another greatest hits, Jump Back (another best of...) Steel Wheels, Sticky Fingers, Tattoo You, among others.

The thing about it is that I get so caught up in some of their more fascinating hits that I never hear most of the songs in my Stones collection.

And honestly? I never realized how much of a Stones fan I really was.

And, now that I think of it, the Rolling Stones should be universally considered a greater group (blasphemy) than Led Zeppelin simply because of their longevity, their volume of work, the quality of work on such a consistent basis, and their ability to change genres the way they have done.

Yeah! I know. I've got to stick with Zep, but don't be surprised if I change my mind sometime soon!

Eightywest Blues

You’ve said you want no drama
I can surely understand why,
you create your own, day to day
and then break down and cry.
And who’s the one that feels the pain?
Yours truly, I would guess
try so hard to please you
as you become a total mess.

Of course, you know, I could move on
but that’s not what love’s about.
Plus, I prefer to sit and laugh
while you begin to scream and shout.
And the girl you say I’m seeing?
I am not in love with her.
No matter whom may climb in my bed
for me, there is no other.

And, yes, I will agree she gives
good head, hell, the sex is even better.
And when you nibble on her ears
my goodness, she becomes even wetter.
Well, so I hear but honey, who cares
when you know you are the best.
I’ve said this so many times before
you’ve about passed all my test.

And no matter how good I say she is
you know it must be a lie.
How could I even know such a thing
when you know I never did try.
OK, maybe once... or twice,
Oh, com’on, don’t even count.
No matter how many times I’ve been with her,
with you it’s twice that amount.

So, come on, honey,
oh please, my dear,
I beg you untie this rope.
I know I’ve been a true asshole
to you I must seem a dope.
Believe me, I know the way you feel
but please, don’t light that fire.
I promise for always I will be true
from cheating I will retire.
