As a show of solidarity for those in opposition of HB2, I regretfully have to announce that I will be canceling all my North Carolina performances for the foreseeable future. I am sorry if that inconveniences any of my many fans but I cannot, in good conscience, go on with them. Now someone book me some gigs so I may get to canceling..

One thing about this situation regarding HB2, there is no solution I can see to please everyone. Oh, to return to simpler days...if you could pass off the look, use the ladies room. If not then use the men's. Nobody cared much and what happens in the stall stays there.

Why does the phlebotomist insist on super gluing a bandage to my arm every time I get blood drawn? It's just a little pin stick but such a production getting that wad of gauze on it then several inches of that death grip tape that won't come off without pulling every arm hair off with it? I think they laugh amongst themselve in back when a hairy armed knuckle dragger suck as myself strolls in. Nurses and their whole lot are a sadistic bunch...

I started watching The Hateful Eight last night but after The Revenant, I think another desolate, icy, winter theme is a but much. A light hearted, beach movie may be in order.. perhaps Weekend at Bernie's. Spring can not come fast enough!

We had a sort of kinship back then, well I did sort of. Around the same time we had both set our beards on fire during episodes of drinking flaming shots...his made the news, mine didn't. It must have been that spectacular beard versus my struggling peach fuzz of an excuse for a beard that was newsworthy.

Note for the kiddies: Blow out the flame before drinking flaming shots of Southern Comfort - do NOT drink the flame.

And they just keep biting the dust...

As stressed out as New York made me last trip, I must admit I do miss it and that we are forever tied. It's a part of me and will always be. I grew up in the NY metro area and also remember why I left every time I go back but damn, it sure is fun to visit. Fun folks, great food, and can hop on a bus and get to most anywhere in the world. I will be back again, for sure.

I had no idea that mandolin strings were made out of razor blades! I've never played a mandolin, actually disliked their sound for years, but have recently warmed up to their sound and style. If nothing else, they are certainly more portable than several guitars and a stack of amps.

I am living in the bluegrass belly so to speak, so why not dive in and play some. I've added Bluegrass Junction to my Sirius channels, so look out!

Tonight's beer choices - the dreaded pumpkin beer Punk'n vs. the sexually suggestive(to me, but that's another story) Dirty Little Freak.

I love pumpkin spice stuff... Not so much in beer but had a few decent ones, but this is the season for Oktoberfest beers, nice dark ones.. Not pumpkin beer. When did we fall into such madness? Then again, the Dirty Little Freak is described as tasting somewhat like a Mounds bar. This could be a no win situation.

Maybe I'll look for a nice double bock..

Cryptowall 3.0 grrr... Bastards got my computer. Fun fun. Thanks. It's a really bad ransom ware virus. Everything is encrypted and will have to be deleted. Fuckers...

I did manage to clean it... Props to MalwareBytes. I never used it before but it scanned in less than a quarter of the time my usual anti-virus does and found and deleted tons of stuff. Unfortunate the files are still encrypted.. That may not be reversible.

It seems like the old truck has served it's purpose and earned the right to part time duty, mainly helping friends move crap when they find out I own a truck. Much has changed since I bought my last vehicle. This time it is a car.

It's been almost 15 years since I had a trunk.. And for the life of me couldn't figure out at first how to unlock it to get my equipment out of it. I still think I may have gotten lucky on that one. The car was texting me too and wanted access to my address book... So if my car texts or emails you., bear with me. The radio/media center is the most perplexing part of it. Once it connected to my phone it took the liberty of downloading all my contacts, over 1500. It seems it grabbed everyone off Facebook, Twitter, etc. I even have Weird Al Yankovic in my car now. Eat that sucka!

I just started up my old laptop for the first time in perhaps a year. It is installing updates... WTF... updates? It's XP (Service Pack 2, mind you), what sort of updates could it possibly be installing? I assumed Microflaccid was done with XP and didn't much support it anymore. Color me surprised.

Headed to the studio to record. We've not practiced in over 7 months although we've played gigs, haven't seen each other since well before the holidays, don't know what we are doing, can't get a head count on who is showing up exactly, and heard one of the band members just broke off their cast to do this. Somehow I am reminded of the guy from 'Lil Abner who used to walk around with a black cloud over his head. Who knows... strength from adversity mayhaps?

I'm glad I never fully pursued a career as a new car dealer. I don't think I could deal with insulting people's intelligence all day to scrape out a living. I know this doesn't apply to all of them but it's the nature of the business. Seriously, after settling on a price I thought fair you want to charge me $800 for a detailing package (forced car washings), $149 to put a stripe on my car, $100 to fill my tires with nitrogen (WTF??!) because I managed to dodge your bullshit $600 "administration fee"? The really insulting part was being told they are "already on the car and can't be taken off". How can the detail package not be taken off or nitrogen filled tires replaced? I'm about to go Dexter...

Final push this weekend before ending this Dietbet on Monday. It was a 6 month long one, where I had to lose 10% of my body weight in stages. Everything looks on track, so this should be one in the win column. I will have lost around 55 lbs since starting a year ago, but more importantly have learned much about me and the triggers that cause me to binge and also ditched the bad habit of eating late at night. I'll still have that snack now and then but it is no longer a routine and hopefully never will be. I think I am going back to the one month/4% ones... 6 was a bit long to say the least, but eliminated a lot of the yoyoing (How is that spelled?) I was doing.
