Helga Almost Gets Robbed Again!!! The latest bill for my "relocated" mobile phone arrived earlier this week, and being as it was a bill, I put it to one side. After all, no rush in reading something that is going to get paid straight from my bank account... It's a good job I did eventually read the bill, as I was horrified to discover that the lucky recipient of my relocated mobile had decided to call a premium rate 0909 number at 6.47am... and chatted for nearly 28 minutes!!! What annoyed me was that my service provider was expecting me to foot the bill, despite the fact that I had reported the phone stolen, and had blocked it within minutes of getting the pervy phone call at 07.17am in the morning on the day of the burglary!! Basically the bastard had spent 28 minutes getting all hot and horny, and then phoned me and started calling me a slut because of a few photos that he'd seen on my "relocated" laptop!! In a huff I called up my service provider, and after picking my way through various "If you want this service, press 1", I eventually got to speak to a human. The poor man didn't know what hit him... I launched into my tirade, and explained my whole sorry story, adding that in all the years I'd had my mobile phone contract with them, I had never, EVER called a premium rate number from my phone. He listened, and then said he would go and ask his supervisor. Do you think they really do that, or do you think they put you on hold, and then have a fag and a cup of coffee while you hang on, listening to a tinny version of the Pan Pipes. A few minutes later he was back. As a gesture of goodwill, they were prepared to go halves with me on the cost of that call, as it had apparently taken me 4 days to report my phone stolen and get it blocked. WHAT??? No bloody way, I told him. I called on the same morning, and had the phone blocked within half an hour of getting that disgusting phone call. I told him that a policeman had been sitting in the same room while I made the call. "Hold on," he told me, I need to speak with my supervisor again." So I held on, and minutes later he was back. They had "investigated my account", and it would appear that I was correct (of course I bloody well was, I was there, for heaven's sake!!), and they would immediately withdraw the charge for the call, which I forgot to mention came to nearly 44 quid!! So, needless to say, I'm rather relieved, and I shall be checking my bank account to make sure that they have reduced the charge, otherwise I'm going to get REALLY mad!!! Never made a call to a Premium nr ? Now I could think of the aspect that yr 'Bit-On-The-Side' could be rated too as a Premium nr.

You speaking of a mobile phone bill brings a sore point up for me. J has had a mobile phone for the last 6 years on pay as you go so she was always able to text her dad etc. Then as she got older it was so i can reach her anytime & know she is safe. Plus she can let me know if she is late or needs a lift home. Anyway i was discussing with her dad & said about getting her a contract phone...he agreed she is responsible enough now to go on to a contract. I sorted it all out & it arrived on the 31st august. Its added on to my contract but with a separate number. My bill runs from the 4th of each month, so she had a few quid on pro rata left for textx & calls. Id told her not to use the internet on it or download as i didnt think that was allowed in her call allowance. Said if she wanted to do that to let me check first. My bill for my phone is never over 25 quid & i anticipated my bill this month with her next month charge & the pro rata amount plus a delivery charge to be about 53 quid. It was 104 pounds (my pound sign wont work on this pc). She had used the internet & in 3 days ran up a bill of almost 50 quid. She had hardly used it either. I rang T-mobile & theres nothing i can do as she did make those calls. So she now has to forfeit horseriding for a month to pay back what she has spent. She wasnt be nasty doing this she just assumed it was included in her call allowance & hadnt checked with me like i said. It slipped her mind apparantly. But she has also used the wap service from the 5th - 7th & thats showing charges of 40 quid already. So next months bill will be the same. I wont stop the horse riding next month though as she has surely learned her lesson by her mistake. Phew sorry aout the length of this hun, i got carried away.

if you PC has been relocated I hope you have thought about ID theft etc? they can easily break your yahoo msn password which are stored in cookies.. Change all you passwords and secret questions.. Just bit of advice.. Last week an austrailian pensioner had a house sold without his knowledge, the buyers bought in good faith and the sale was registered so he's the one hard done by. might be worth asking your banks, buildig society to put credit watch on your accounts.
