Legends of Rock

Next Sunday I'm off to see true legends of rock... my family and I are going to be seeing The Eagles, at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. Their concert is being billed as Farewell 1, and two of the original members, Don Henley and Glenn Frey are in the line-up, along with Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit, who have incidentally been with the band quite a long while, but not part of the original line-up, from way back in the early 70s.

Now, I had thought there was no way that anyone could not know who
The Eagles were, but I was put in my place by a new pal of mine, Cassie, who quite innocently asked who they were a few nights ago, when we were chatting in the Euro Hot Tub. I nearly fell off my chair!! How could any one not know who had sung the legendary Hotel California??? After recovering from my shock, I told her to ask her husband (Bear hun... we need to have words about Cassie's musical education), and then go and wash her mouth out!

Master Hansen bought his dad
The Eagles - Complete Greatest Hits for Father's Day today, and the insert made for some interesting reading. Did you know that Jackson Browne wrote most of Take It Easy, which was to be the band's first hit? He co-wrote several more of the band's greatest hits, namely Doolin-Dalton and James Dean. Bob Seger played a part in the writing of Heartache Tonight, one of my favourite songs, after Hotel California and Lyin' Eyes.

If truth be told, there isn't an Eagles song that I don't like, and I have instantly fallen in love with their latest single...

No More Cloudy Days

Sitting by a foggy window
Staring at the pouring rain
Falling down like lonely teardrops
Memories of love in vain
These cloudy days, make you wanna cry
It breaks your heart when someone leaves and you don’t know why

I can see that you’ve been hurting, baby I’ve been lonely too
I’ve been out here lost and searching, looking for a girl like you
Now I believe the sun is gonna shine
Don’t you be afraid to love again, put your hand in mine…

Baby, I would never make you cry
I would never make you blue
I would never let you down
I would never be untrue

I know a place where we can go where true love always stays
There’s no more stormy nights, no more cloudy days

I believe in second chances
I believe in angels, too
I believe in new romances
Baby, I believe in you
These cloudy days are coming to an end
And you don’t have to be afraid to fall in love again

Baby, I would never make you cry
I would never make you blue
I would never turn away
I would never be untrue
I know a place where we can go where true love always stays
There’s no more stormy nights, no more cloudy days

Love, hugs and kisses from ♥♥HH♥♥

As always Helga, thank you for educating me on life!

Now if I could only find the CD slot on my I-pod to listen to the damn music!

Seriouly though, after Bear had gone rooting in the house he manged to produce some of the songs.. turns out I have Hotel Californa in the Pod but never twigged who they were! It gets so confusing as songs that I think are brand new .. Bear sadly informs me he remember's the original.. What originals?

I hope you enjoy the concert!

Cassie
