It's sad that so much money is spent on security and stuff still happens. Now if people took more pride in their work and not just the paycheck, we'd be better off.

I have run into incompetence in just about every place I've worked. Sadly it seem that management would rather let those people slide and have others who are more competent fill in the gap for them. I worked at one place several years back, my complaints about a co-worker not doing his part when un headed until the management decided to get rid of him. I had given up on my complaints and refused to play their game. Yeah I don't do well in the corporate world

Really? And here was me thinking that security was all about obstruction and making life as difficult as possible for the man in the street to go about his daily life in order to remind us all how important they are. Sir Teezalot WAR IS ABSURD

I was at the WH several years ago when Bush 41 was in office for a rose garden ceremony. I have a photo of myself standing at the door right next to one of the security guards. I think there is an attitude of unconcern from the Dept. of Homeland Security and other agencies about the potential for terrorists to be in this country--thus the shabby work habits, incompetence, drinking on the job, etc. Never ignore those who care for you you will have lost diamonds while you were collecting stones

It should be a lesson to the government and the White House in particular that it need to be easier to fire government employees. The fault lies mainly with the government but unions have a big part in the problem.
