what i meant to say was no.

I don't usually write directly about my feelings. it's not my style and it isn't particularly comfortable for me. In most cases when I do, it is because I simply can't figure out a way to say what I mean any other way. I tried with lost. but it didn't happen.

I cant stand this. I just can't. It isn't that we elected a president that I didn't vote for. Lord knows that's happened before. this is different. Why?

Because this time we elected a man who not only has no skills to run our country and put him into the most powerful place a man can sit and said....rule, we elected. man who vilified over 75% of the people who live in America. who denigrated blacks, women, latinos, muslims, the lgbtq community. We elected someone who doesn't like us. who thinks we're scum.

And if anyone believes that he'll bring manufacturing back to the USA........think again. the costs of that are astounding. dream on middle America. ain't happening.

we will become a police state. a place where your freedom is NOTHING compared to the need of the state to control the masses. Hello 1984.......goodbye America.

Already women are being accosted, blacks are getting hate mail on college campuses in numbers that are terrifyingly ominous. He says the protestors are professionals. pfft. I'm protesting...I'm a 66 year old social services provider surrounded by people with fear in their eyes. professional my ass.

so many of the people I know who said they were voting for Hillary or
"vote their consciences" slithered behind that curtain and voted for Trump. well, I want to tell you something. You will reap what you sowed.

Freedom is something we stood for, something our veterans fought for, something that America could claim as a birthright. i wouldn't count on that anymore.

I intend to fight to let the world see that there are still Americans who believe that all people are created equal, with the same damn rights, that we take care of those that can't take care of themselves, because we are Americans.

I'm so tired of crying and being afraid. so, no, I'm not going to give the drained swamp presidency time to take hold.

it starts now. we start now. we say no, now.

Protest is constitutionally allowed. it is a right. wield it.

You cannot conceive the many without the one.

It really is winding the clock back to 1930s Europe, you know, that time when our parents and grandparents rose up to stand against the evil of hatred and bigotry? But with a country the size of the US, this is on a terrifyingly huge scale. And it will affect the whole world.

Well said McWickster, very well said, as usual!

i'm aghast. and so afraid that my country, which has such beauty but so little grace sometimes, will fall to pieces under this Man/child.

I see the burning of America and I am sore afraid.

Trump is far from the most powerful man in the world. Already he has started toneing down his rhetoric! He and every other leader in the world are just figurehead puppets whose strings are being pulled by the multinational coperations and banks. it is business as usual. No wall will be built, Muslims and Mexicans will stay. The swamp will not be drained. Just keep buying and consuming. And supporting corporate greed and things will be fine! A large scale war would not be good for business! They will keep to starting and stopping the same regional conflicts that they have been doing for the last 40 years. The new world order isn't coming, it's already here. They are just slowly getting everyone used to it and slowly taking away the freedoms that we once had. Freedom of speech, what a joke! Better watch what you say!

Trump reminds me quite a bit of Richard Nixon.

I predict that he will be impeached before the end of his term.

Based upon his past history of involvement with organized crime, (it's documented and based upon fact), his history of litigating thousands of people, etc. he will not be able to help himself when it comes to abusing the power of the office.

Either way, Clinton or Trump the country was going to suffer for four years.

wickedeasy replies on 11/17/2016 11:14 am:
in 4 years, the gain this country has made can be long gone.

and if he's impeached......will Pence prove any better? yes, more articulate, but better?

I have faith in our Constitution, and our belief that we are a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. He is surrounding himself with strong good leaders who aren't going to buy his BS. In 4 years, if we don't like what he's done, then we can dump his ass and pick someone else.

I think the coastals need to remember that there is a heartland in America--the midwest who hold strong values and believe their voices should carry as much weight as everyone else'.

I refuse to play the role of Chicken Little and go on a fear mongering mission. He's not even in office yet. Let's wait until he does something completely horrendous and unacceptable to truly protest with one voice. These protests now are half-assed with kids just wanting to destroy property and hurt others. Also, I ask myself: when did any President have any direct influence on my every day life? Answer: 41 did when I was invited to the WH for an award. Otherwise, none of them have changed my lifestyle, my values, or my beliefs. That's the beauty of America's freedom. I'm free to be me.

directly?

Bush cut service dollars and that cost the programs that I ran by nearly 33%. it impacted me directly I had to fire people in two jobs that I held. I had to cut salaries, my own went first. we kept services the same because people with AIDS were dying. sp yeah. I have felt the impact directly.

and people have lost houses, jobs. I think that's pretty direct.

policies impact people. if Roe v Wade is overturned. yeah, that will impact women directly.

Problem with the protests that are going on right now is that they are not peaceful. The government will use this to bring in more legislation that erodes your freedoms. You have the right to protest peacefully, but not to destroy property or use violence. The people doing this are defeating themselves!

He is backing way down from his initial stand and sure why not give the those that can't wait and just see what happens the permit to burn down what hard working people that don't share your view have worked so hard to accomplish.
We should go after those that have sat in office for years not doing what they said they'd do.How naive can you possibly be?The threat of outside influence is a very big business in this country. They can't wait for protests.
Let's show our disdain with this numb skull and open up more and more opportunities for those who do want to attack us.

Clearly there needs to be some changes made to the qualifications to be president of the United States. Involvement with criminals and organized crime, racist activity, sexist activity, sex crimes as in assault, Fraud through charity organizations, Fraudulent business practices, threatening behavior through out the primary and election process, instigating hate and violence all things Trump has done and I'm sure there are more should be disqualifications for the leader of the free world shouldn't they?

It does start now. In fact we started last Thursday, and we mean to keep it up. There are millions of people who are appalled at what this election says about us as a people. We have to show that's a lie. We're stronger together.

I think it's interesting that most of the people saying "let's wait and see what happens" and/or "the person who is President doesn't directly effect my life" tend to be those who are privileged. I acknowledge that I'm one of those privileged ones who could probably weather a lot - I'm white, I have a pension, no dependents, too old to have to be afraid of an unwanted pregnancy. That doesn't mean that I don't worry about others who are more vulnerable though...

wickedeasy replies on 11/20/2016 8:38 am:
you are a woman..........you are vulnerable.

just because you are smart and made sure to protect yourself as best you could, doesn't mean you are safe. unless you are one of the top 1%, I wouldn't feel safe.

While I agree that Trump is a narcissist, I think what many people fail to recognize is our country still has a check and balance system to prevent any one person from becoming a dictator. Many of Trump's Republican constituents in the Senate and House do not share Trump's ideologies.

Last time I checked, when a President attempts to enact legislation or veto a policy, it must be approved by a majority vote in our Senate and House of Representatives. Thus any radicalized legislation can be quickly squashed or vetoed. It's important to keep in mind that Trump does not wield the kind of power many people thinks he has.

I feel that we're stuck with him unless something drastic happens. . Look at all the times that people wanted Obama impeached.
The only thing I see that could happen is if the Dems backed all those women in individual lawsuits.
If even one of them wins, I don't think we could keep a President who has been convicted of a sex crime. . But if they sue as a group, even if only one has a bad case it could be dismissed.

wickedeasy replies on 11/20/2016 8:42 am:
I would welcome a lawsuit that kept him from office. it's why he settled the Trump University thing. Outstanding charges......and assault is a felony charge.

Pam and I are still protesting but we've begun to try to do some other things too. We have our work cut out for us but we also have an energized and motivated group of progressives locally who are angry at the outcome of this election. We've listed our priorities and they align very well with the wishes of local Democrats- we want to end gerrymandering in Michigan. That system of checks and balances works even better when one party does NOT control all three branches of government.

we lost our manufacturing jobs to technology, robots. he ll never be able to bring those jobs back.
I was in the steel workers union for 24 yrs and in our machine shop from the day I started to the day they closed us out.. we lost 400 people.
because of cnc machines and not lathes.
this guy is a fucking clown, a jester, he needs the crowds, the chants, the applause from the minions that go to his rallies,

he speaks like a 5th grader, yes I may be spoiled by the intelligence of our first black president.
he's a nationalist, and so much more that I won t bother putting them all here..
it s been said millions of times already.

Pence hates LBGTQ more than he does. just look at all the shit he passed in Indiana.
He just bribed a company to stay in Indiana , gave them tax payers money from the people of Indiana. How many companies are now going to do the same thing.. so they can get money not to leave.. that s not building jobs..

I ll get off my soap box..thanks for a great blog dear.
