Lighten Up

I keep hearing complaints, both online and in real life about how men only want sex (with as many partners as they can find) while women want serious relationships, lifetime partners, monogamy, etc. After hearing and reading so much about what seems to be a disconnect between men and women, I thought about my younger, carefree days (seems so long ago).

I wasn't a wild so to speak, but I lived life with enthusiasm, an open mind and a good dose of common sense. Doing so brought some pretty awesome opportunities my way. I enjoyed my independence, loved my freedom and cherished the solitude I had as a young single woman. I didn't need to fall in love or be in a serious relationship in order to enjoy sex. Sex felt great, I enjoyed the thrill and explored what turned on me and my partners.

Once again, I'm enjoying my solitude, freedom and independence as a single woman, but this time in midlife. I'm no longer quite as carefree as I once was, but I've learned a thing or two since then. I know what works for me, what makes me happy and I don't waste time getting caught up in other people's agendas or games. I've learned to lighten up, just enjoy the wonderful experiences that come my way and to be grateful for the opportunity to live life on my own terms.

I've always had a strong sex drive and it hasn't changed over the years, nor has my attitude regarding sex. I'm in a great place at midlife to just enjoy sex and make it pleasurable for someone else too. I don't need a relationship, drama, games or other nonsense to go along with it. Just a willing partner will do.

Very well said. seeing you articulate that actually clarified things for me. In the last 10 plus years, I have been evolving similarly. I stay away from drama, and it is all about "our" pleasure and desires. Thank you for posting this
