Focus on Me

At what point do we stop worrying about the other person and focus only on ourselves? I once heard someone say that the best lovers are selfish. I think to a certain point, that's true. But, at some point, their need to satisfy only them self leaves their partner behind to drown in a unfulfilling relationship. Do we speak up and say hey, this isn't working for me anymore, and try to fix it together? Or do we simply turn, and walk away?
