How do you manage expectations?

So I've been through it before... Being on here under an old profile... You contact someone... Chat and flirt, get to know each other... Get a little raunchy even Then the time comes to meet... First rule is to meet on neutral ground, in public of course... But what goes through your head as you go to meet that lady/fella that you were having cybersex or dirty talking with the night before? In reality, this is a stranger standing before you, and it can be a little awkward... Especially if there was some misrepresentation of who this person is or how they look... can you differentiate between what you hope might happen or what you may expect to happen? Can you really go in with no hopes or expectations and just meet this person and see how it goes? And what if you're a tool like me who couldn't read a sign if it was written on their forehead? A lady could probably take off her bra in the bar, wrap it around my neck and start leading me out like on a leash, and my dumb brain would still be asking "I wonder where we're going now"... My ramble for the day...

 I've learned to not have any expectations until actually meeting someone in person. No expectations, no raunchy talk, no nekkid pics. Most people here only seem to want to talk, not actually meet. That way there's no let down if they don't turn out the way they portrayed themselves online. Or if they just don't show up!
