 While the issues and experiences are different, from what I've read (and experienced), there is a significant number of both sexes that are less than satisfied with their VisionPersonals.com experiences. While I want to believe the majority of people, both men and women, are basically good, the actions of a significant number of those on VisionPersonals.com makes me wonder.

I believe a site that advertises like VisionPersonals.com attracts the selfish and disrespectful, and that is most of what is here. Whether it is worth it to winnow through chaff to find the grain is an open question.

 Speaking generally (of course), true FWB is as much a frustratingly elusive chimera for men, too, because it turns out they do not have a monopoly on all those undesirable characteristics.

 I think spudlvr has the key - most of the men who would be attracted by this site's advertising are going to be the ones who are looking for a one dimensional relationship. Well, actually using the word 'relationship' is overstating what they're looking for

There are a few who are different, of course.

I do like the openness and freedom of expression here and that's pretty much the only thing keeping me around.

 So many selfish men here... why would women even stay?

I suppose you need to answer the question - for yourself only - of how many men you are looking for ?

If you need to find/be-pleased-with "so many" then sure, it's a problem that you're finding so many selfish men here. But come on - not "every" man on this site behaves selfishly.

Be a glass-half-full person . . . that's way more interesting and appealing than the alternative sort of personality.

And to your point #8, perhaps you should reconsider your approach to interacting with prospective friends. Is there a pattern that you can recognize and - in future - either avoid the "fools and babies" entirely, or cut your losses before investing too much time ?
