Why blog on AFF?
Why blog on AFF? Seriously, I am wondering this... I have a few friends for whom this appears to be their primary blogging outlet. Now, I love sex. I love playing with myself. I love writing about sex. I especially love playing with others. And this is the biggest online community devoted to sex, so you have the biggest audience. yet... This community is fragmented at best and hostile at worst. It's a microcosm of the general population, rather than a focused sub-culture. Sub-cultures tend to be supportive, whereas this venue seems to attract vultures and predators, to an even greater extent than the default world. What makes us want to even try? Is it that, like Facebook, it's the lowest common denominator and biggest available audience? Is it that we blog because we hope we'll get dates and sex because we're bloggers? Please help me understand why I'm here. |

My best idea is that any other outlet would block us permanently for the content we freely peruse here. Of course, it never hurts to do stuff to improve our chances at actually meeting real people to do real things with.

I am here because I would never be able to blog anywhere else like I do here. Yeah occasionally things go a little south and I run my mouth off, but for the most part, I try to get along with everybody! At the end of the day, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else! ...

Where else can you blog such a question and get diverse answers? (Good question btw) With a bit of search, one can actually find blogs that do have great discussions about good information. Yup, there are cliques who spend most of their "exclusive" blog space fishing for and exchanging meaningless compliments and awards, others for expressing their fantasies and others for posting oggle pictures. Hint: Try delving into blogs posted circa 2011. There was several bloggers then who did value meaningful exchanges and discussions. Some of those discussions were heated by opposing views but no one was blocked or deleted because opposite points of view. (For examples, click one of the lower ones in my signature.) Btw The links you tried to provide in VM's blog did get censored (automatically). One has to be a bit more clever in framing urls here otherwise they become just blowing smoke. For me.. I'm an introvert. Most people only see the parts of me I think they can handle without hurting me or upsetting them. It's totally unintentional. Some few people I click and resonate with and they get deeper glimpses. But here: I can let it all out. The side of me that has no other outlet except a VERY select few friends or lovers over the years. I can write about anything: my sexual fantasies, my questions, sorrows, hopes, whatever, and feel safe letting it all out. Or, as one friend has stated, I can keep myself protected in my little fantasy world. Still: I love the community here. I've found, except for a brief bit of drama that I mainly just let go over my head, and the rare jerk with nothing better to than insult people, that people here ARE supportive of one another. Answering questions, supporting, offering a hand or a shoulder (figuratively and sometimes literally) for the rest of us in blogville.

I write a lot; I say fuck even more. Can't do that on fb. I am, therefore I blog; I blog therefore I am. That sort of thing. I have been here pretty much since a year after they started having blogs here; things change, sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse. I write for me; if others understand, get a connection, whatever, that's good of course, but even if they didn't, I'd still be blogging.

oh yeah, you find them or they find you...and assuming a f f doesn't 'glitch' like it has in the past and lose a good bit of your watched list, things get better...tho so many have quit blogging over the years or blog so seldom that sometimes it feels as if it's a ghost town kind of thing...but in the end, blog about what matters to you, and how you want to express it, and you should be happy regardless
