why dont people answer

why don't people respond to messages sent to them. people take the time to write to try and meet and make a connection. it you are not interested a simple no thanks, not interested, not my type, not what I am looking for, any will be better and nicer than not answering at all.

 Three main reasons, methinks...

1. Women get a LOT more messages than men. As in, orders of magnitude.

2. Many of these messages are inappropriate, or show that the sender hasn't really read or considered the profile of the person he or she is emailing.

3. Rudeness, in the case of a well-thought-out email. Even if a recipient has no interest, a quick, polite thank you for a good email is in order.

There is a corollary to this: Members, especially women, have had experiences in which they send polite rejections and are subjected to some pretty nasty responses. I could see how this would turn someone off replying... but really, every contact should be judged on its own merits.

 Very well said humor. There has been much written about this. If men realized just how many messages we got, they wouldnt be so quick to whine about it. I know that I wont be hiring a secretary to respond to messages on my behalf.

Also, what Red said. They will receive a reply if they deserve one. Unfortunately, most get deleted and the sender blocked.
