 Very true. I know we all search for someone whose attributes will be complementary to our own but if we are lacking in something....say physical strength....I think we would be attracted to someone who possesses that quality.

But certainly there are traits about myself that I would like to improve on, and it helps to pull you in that direction when they person you are with has those traits. Despite the statement "opposites attract", it actually "likes" that attract, but not some much alike that they are a carbon copy. The differences between the two "likes" is what hopefully helps one complete the journey to being what they want.

 The commonalities are actually the foundation of a good relationship (likes attract - scientifically demonstrated). But it is those little differences, when someone has strengths we would like to have for ourselves, that separate them from everyone else that we have lots in common with. As I said in a previous response, who wants to date an exact replica of ourselves?
