When someone is caller a Transvestite, or a Cross Dresser . . .Why do we think it is only men?

Why do we not think of women as Transvestites or Cross Dressers?

Doesn't Transvestite and Cross Dresser mean basically the same thing. A person wearing clothes of the opposite gender. So why the innuendo that ALL Transvestites or Cross Dressers are men?

Isn't a Girl dressing as a TOMBOY Cross Dressing?

And why is it that when a Girl is dressed as a TOMBOY we in society do not look down on it as we do when Males dress in feminine clothes?

We seem to be so full of prejudice to think that only males can be Transvestites and Cross Dressers!!

Is that not being a BIGOT?

As for me. . Yes! I do think we are being Bigots to say Only men can be a Transvestite or a Cross-Dresser. Just think back of what you last thought, or said,when You last saw, or met a Transvestite or Cross Dresser.
Did you think they were Brave? Foolish? Did you laugh? Even if it was just to yourself. Did you think of offering to help them? Do you see the plight of Transvestites or Cross Dressers as one the Gays or Lesbians are or had before.
Do you blame them for the pain and misery that Gays and Lesbians suffered? All because to the always Straight Moral Majority,they are always show in caricature as a Man and a Drag Queen (named Bruce) walking hand in hand or kissing and calling them Satan's Spawn?
I should say Yes I am A Transvestite! But I would rather be called a Transgender Person. And Yes! I have been treated like Satan's Spawn! But unfortunately mostly as crap from the Gay community!
I agree both Males and Females can be a Transvestites or Cross Dresses

Girls Dressing in Tomboy clothes are just being girls

 Dont think anyone's being a bigot but rather, when they think of transvestites or cross dressers, they imagine them to be male because all those theyve encountered have been male ? If its not an area people are interested in it could be down to lack of knowledge over bigotry ? Or they just presume its a man because most are males and theyre presuming based on the larger demographic ?
