Blind Confidence (or The Latest Applicant for the Wall of Shame)

In previous posts, I mentioned the detailed auto-reply that goes out to everyone who sends me an email. It goes on like a semi-incoherent rant as VisionPersonals.com took out all of my paragraphing that made it flow better, but it is sufficiently complete to ward off most of the contenders for the Wall of Shame. I'll include it before proceeding to today's entry onto the Wall of Shame.

Auto-reply message:

Two days passed, and a new message arrived.

Now, I repeatedly mention that I don't engage in intellectual combat with unarmed combatants, but today wasn't one of my best life guarding moments. I went for short and sweet with my response.

What you lack in good sense, you have in confidence.

Not insulting, to be sure, but it should suffice in putting him off of further pursuit. Hopefully, he doesn't take it as witty flirtation. There is always the chance that the overly confident will take such a statement in the way it most fits what they want. I will feign shock if I receive another one line response.

But, to be honest, his general lack of good sense and excess of confidence are not sufficient to obtain a place for him on the Wall of Shame.

Application denied, but encouragement to work harder in his next attempt. He has potential to succeed.

UPDATE: He might be one of God's Special People. He responded to my email with one word, "Right." I needed to share.
