 I believe, in general, the internet (and sites like this) are comforting to people because certain sets of 'facts' are set out at the beginning of the 'relationship'. Men can find out about physical attributes (such as age and body appearance) and women can find out if the guy is married and/or employed.
I think writing ability as a consideration would be a luxury for both sexes.
If a man saw a profile of a woman who seemed physically attractive and emotionally available I don't think he'd be concerned if her grammar was a little off-putting. If a woman spotted a profile of a twenty seven year old widower who owned his own business and finally felt he was over the death of his wife, I don't think she'd let a few dropped past participles stand in her path.
It would be a rare grammar nazi who would forgo sex for the sake of split infinitives. Don't ya think?
