++ Have you done it?

Even though I have been retired for awhile , I am still amazed that I made it this far. One advantage to being retired is thinking about retirement. It is a new adventure after working all your adult life. If you are like me, you now have the time and are very willing to share your wisdom with anyone that does not run away first . It does take time to adjust to your new schedule, or lack of schedule. One problem though is hanging out with all these old folks . Are you retired? If not, when do you plan to retire? Here are some of my thoughts about retirement . Please share any thoughts .

A personal thought I have when the Legislator questions the retirement benefits of military personnel. [image]

It sounds like you have it under control. It will be awhile before I can retire

That is what happens when "we the people" don't
pay attention to what out representatives in government are doing.

Retired as well. But I have volunteered my time to help veterans out with claims. When the Veterans are I am doing the Office stuff so it feels I am back to work. So true. Hugs V

I think I will be able to retire when they put me 6 feet under.

I'm medically retired. My only worry is waking up the next day.

I retired at age 62. Traveled around for about a year seeing relatives I hadn't visited in years. Saw some of the country I wanted to see; like Graceland, Philadelphia, New England for the fall colors and the clam chowder, and New York. When I realized I better cool it with the finances, I came home to California and quieted down. BUT....you can only watch so much Doctor Phil and Oprah on TV without going crazy. I decided to go back to work part time on my terms. There was a new grocery store under construction literally 2 minutes from my home. NO COMMUTE I thought.....

As a retired 27 year banker, I applied for the cash/accounting office and by golly they hired me on the spot! I work Monday thru Friday, 7am to 230pm and I absolutely LOVE it. Sometimes I am back up cashier for the front end to cover breaks and lunches. I work 32 hours a week and am home by 2:35!

Of course the extra jingle in my pocket is nice too. I got very lucky since I live alone and have no family or close friends here in town. I like staying busy and sometimes I volunteer at the local shelter here in town a few hours a week sorting canned goods for the food pantry and donated clothing.....I have a great life and occasionally I enjoy spending time with someone I met here. Not often but he is at my door when I call or text! LOL

Happy New Year to one and all......

Retired but looking for a parttime postion. I am more than qualified to work in a medical practice or cash office in a store. I have been very lazy BUT I have a better income than when I was working at the last job(retail is in the bottom of the money pit)

T.G.I.R. Thank Goodness I'm retired!
