Brother can you spare a dime?

Last night while watching NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, he did a segment on congress, saying that their approval rating is the lowest in decades, and added that the majority of our congressional leaders are millionaires based off the 2013 salary census.

It makes you wonder, doesn’t it? I mean all the infighting, it makes sense.

I’m sure at some time we’ve all encountered while channel surfing a reality show on the rich, and they’re in a squabble about counter tops, implants, or some disagreement on a Caribbean vacation.
That’s what you get when you introduce money into people with a sense of entitlement.

Here’s a thought. The majority of major sport leagues have salary caps. The main reasoning is ensuring fair and competitive play. Perhaps, we should consider the same thing for congress?
A salary cap.

Like, say, $60,000 a year?

It’s all about being able to relate to the general public, unless you’re buddy-buddy with Bill Gates himself, what on earth does someone making millions a year have in common with you or I?

Just a thought..

The salary isn't what makes them millionaires... it is the treasure chests that they incorporate in side wages, speaking engagements, and promotions... the president is supposed to give to the Smithsonian... but congress doesn't have to?

That would be awesome but getting someone to actually present the bill on the floor of the Senate would be difficult.
