HNW - Pink Moon

This week's post is in memory of those I've known who have won and those who have lost their battles with breast cancer.

What a great cosmic display of pink this morning - the whole moon bathed in a reddish-pink glow just for breast cancer awareness month!

I got up early to watch. Well, really, I always get up early. But I was hoping as I got out of bed this morning that the clouds we'd had last night had thinned out. And by time the eclipse started they had. And by time the moon was fully in Earth's shadow the sky was almost clear. Overhead to the south Orion was in full view. And to the west the blood red moon was just above the trees.

I watched from the sidewalk in front of the house. Almost half naked. In my jammies with a light weight coat. I got a good view between the row of houses on the street and the line of trees.



So what could be more appropriate for my HNW picture for breast cancer awareness on a day of the blood moon than another "lunar" view?

I tried to see the eclipse but it was too cloudy here!
