Remembering Robin

It's very rare that I pay attention when someone in the spotlight has died. I mean, we're all going, soon! Normally, I hear that a 'celebrity' has died, I'll probably think: "I wonder how they died." And I get on with whatever it is that I'm doing.

But when I heard that Michael Jackson had died, the thought was: "No! I hope that's not true."

In my view someone like that deserves to live for several more decades so that they can provide me/us with their contributions borne of their natural talents.

Yesterday when I heard that Robin Williams had died, my reaction was the same as with Michael: "I hope that's not true." I didn't want to hear anything about it, and avoided any such conversation just to not be part of it. I still don't want to believe it. That's a waste of a one-of-a-kind talent.

That type of talent I want to see live until his 90s, if not longer, which is why I previously wrote this post, Robin William's Compilation!

And, like Michael, it did affect me like a close family member had died. It actually hurts, especially because he was reportedly suffering from depression. It still does.

I don't watch those shows at night like Letterman, Leno, Stewart, etc; but if I read that Robin was going to be on one of them, it was guaranteed that I was tuning in that night!

One might not agree with me, but his was a talent that will be hard to duplicate.

There are just some folks you don't want to see go. He's one celebrity that I will sorely miss!!

Robin Williams, R. I. P.

There's no question this Ali's alluring
Never ordinary never boring,
Everything about the man just plain impresses...
He's a winner- He's a wiz- a wonder!
He's about to pull my heart asunder,
And I absolutely love the way he dresses!

I -- at first thought it was the beginning of a joke. I'm still wanting, the joke. His death touched me deeper than Michael's murder. Yet I'm doing my best not to be sad for he loved us all laughing. From what I read it was his favorite thing to make people do. I'm just so sorry no one could be there for him or could, reach him, when he needed someone. There's a purpose in everything though --- I will just feel this one as will the world for sometime.

I always viewed him as a very funny man tormented by his own brain. It is sad.

Very sad, indeed!

When it comes to celebrities and rich folks I usually figure that they are more fortunate than I, so, I have my own problems.

But with Robin I actually felt it deeply and almost felt his passing in a personal way!

Not only did he make us laugh, not only was he good at what he did, but I'm yet to hear a bad word spoken about him. Everybody comments on what a great friend he was.

I didn't see all of his movies, but the ones I saw with him I saw because his name was attached to the film, and I loved them all.

It's like keeping folks happy was his passion! The thing about that is that once that outlet is taken away from you all the pain just comes flooding back in. It's almost easy to imagine the pain he might have been in once he got home to peace and quiet!

Depression is not something I would wish on anyone.

The good thing about being an artist/performer (especially in this technological age) is that your work can live on forever for anyone who needs to be entertained.

Now I realize it, but I never thought of him that way, tormented. I more thought 'super hyper', incapable of slowing down.[/C]

I always found him super funny. Hell he even got me to laugh during what was supposed to be a serious interview/Q. & A.

I think the only time he never made me laugh was in "Insomnia" with Al Pacino, which was a great performance and a deviation from the norm for him.[/][/C]
