World Cup Finals

If I was in New York today I would be at a World Cup Final party (even though my team, Brazil, was humiliatingly eliminated), having Heinekins, barbecued chicken, ribs, steamed fish (with greens, okra, and pepper inside), playing dominoes, and listening to friends talk crap (girls are there, but not the type I pay attention to).

Instead, I'm at home watching by myself, and posting items on VisionPersonals.com.

That's one of the disadvantages of living in Cleveland, Ohio. Hell, I don't even know if they know about soccer in Cleveland.

All the excitement is about Le Bron (who they don't deserve), and Johnny Manziel (which won't make any difference to the Browns terrible existence); do you hear that Cleveland.

By the way, I went to Columbus, Ohio as part of my anniversary celebration, and it was like I had gone to visit another state. I wanted to leave Cleveland right away.

Anyway, I can't believe I'm cheering for Argentina! My friends are the ones who usually do that.

Argentina started out with a bang in the first 20 minutes. I had already accepted that Brazil wasn't going to win while hoping for a miracle.

Sort of like what happened with me and the Heat in the NBA Finals.

Couldn't catch a break this year. Even my Yankees are performing even worse than normal.

Thanks for coming by!

I'll watch them (if they're playing a great team), but they remind me too much of the Cavaliers, Marlins, and Pirates owners. Getting rid of better talent to save money which then goes into their pockets instead of into making the team better.

Then raise hell because the Yankees spend to provide a team the fans are willing to watch.

I have to agree, the best team won!

I also have to agree 'Jogo Bonito" is indeed dead! Might have been dead for awhile! Which might be part of the problem. They haven’t been as dominant since they tried to ditch their true style of playing to keep up with the times they tried to integrate a European style into their game and they're just not built for it.

Portugal & the Netherlands does it better yet, despite always being one of the better teams, haven't really got a championship to show for it.

As to paying for all that. From what I gather ( didn't pay enough attention) but FIFA gets 100% of the revenue from the games so, if I understand correctly, all Brazil really receive is any tourism revenue that comes from hotels, transport, etc. Stuff like stadium entry, beer sold, souvenir, all that is for FIFA, who never even helped with the cost of building stadiums, or infra-structure.

Makes you wonder why some of the poorer countries would even bid to put on these games.

I know Ohio is your homeland.....but have you ever considered a change of venue.....the central coast of California....Seattle...New Orleans come to mind....

    Blue....
Are you kidding? I would be out of here in a heartbeat if my wife wasn't so caught up in this place.

Before I even moved to Ohio (200 I came across a place in Oregon that I thought was my dream destination; not too harsh winters, not too hot summers, beautiful lakes, parks; never thought I would ever have the opportunity to leave New York so I never paid attention to the name and now I can't find it!

I kinda want to hate Ohio. I know I hate Cleveland (sorry my Cleveland friends). I know there are places in the suburbs of Cleveland that I love, which is where I'm looking to buy my home (hell, anywhere that's not inner-city).
