700... End of the Affair

I think each century mark should be celebrated, especially after you past the first 100 (considering I didn't expect to be here long enough to write 100 posts), and I was considering writing something special for #700.

But over the years my ex (who got pregnant for another man (but treated me like I got some other girl pregnant) has become so needy you would think that she's still my woman (yes, I still love her, but that's my cross to bear)!

So I figured I would dedicate number 700 to her (she is the one who re-ignited my love of writing.)
Journey's End

I'm afraid that this is where I get off
this trip was great while it lasted;
this journey was one I truly enjoyed,
aren't you glad it's one that you started?

The wonderful sights, the beauty encountered,
on the byways we traverse each day,
it truly was worth the toll we paid
though we didn't expect it to end this way.

Of course I knew the signs were there
though I was too blind to even see.
Yes, the wheels they wobbled, the engine stalled,
it's like they were always trying to break free.

So, despite the wonderful times we had
this ride now comes to an end.
Knowing the amount of fun we both had
you must know I'll always be your friend.
