Escape From Reality

I sometimes think I should feel guilty about my reading and movie preferences.

See, I have great love for reality but it’s the life we’re all required to live. But the television, the newspapers, the internet, they’re all littered with reality, mostly the harsh reality of life today.

Reality is everywhere around me; no shortage of that. And if there ain’t enough I can always turn to “Reality TV.” (Shoot me in the head now!!)

What I don’t have enough of is fantasy, the world to which I can escape; which, by the way, is a much happier and fun alternative to reality.

I just read an article, (Larry McMurthy tells about his latest novel “The Last Kind Words Saloon” ). This is one of the more proficient authors of any generation. He said: “The detective fiction of Robert B. Parker… are my pleasure now.”

Having read that, I have to assume I’m in good company!

Actually, that was sarcasm on my part.

I hate the act or the pain involved in throwing up, so I don't watch "Reality" TV.

I suppose I will but, like most folks (I suppose) I wonder why sometimes; and then something comes to mind, and I have to do it again!
