Got protein?

One of the people I work with recently had a stomach reduction surgery to help her with weight loss. As a result, she now has to supplement her diet with added protein shakes to remain healthy.

Not a big deal, really......

Unless she leaves one on her desk for a week.

I'm here to say, it's the most putrid thing I've ever experienced. It began to sour almost immediately, emitting a foul odor that began to get stronger and stronger as days passed. At first I didn't know where the smell was coming from.

It smelled like a stinky foot.

Once we discovered the source of the smell, it kind of ticked us off.

This coworker doesn't sit at her desk all that often, instead she opts to use a different desk in another office, yet she left her soured, rotting protein shake on the desk in my office.

Nice.....

So, being the kind soul that I am, I threw out the foul shake, making sure to use the trash next to the desk she utilizes most.

The one in the other office.

That was 2 days ago.

By now, the smell had started to permeate the entire upstairs. She initially blamed it on someone 'farting' in the office and closing the door behind them. After some time, when the smell didn't go away, she started looking around to see if there was food up there that hadn't been eaten and not thrown away. I could hear her rifling around, and making gagging noises.

Yes, the smell was THAT bad.

So, I yelled over and asked her if she'd checked the trash. Maybe the cleaning people hadn't taken the garbage out and someone had thrown food into it.......

I knew the shake was still in there.

She yelled back and said no, all she saw was a piece of paper.

Lazy.... Didn't even check her own trash.

It was all I could do to not start laughing hysterically. Now she was certain the smell was coming from the floors because the cleaning people had cleaned the carpets the day before.

It took her 3 hours to discover the source of the smell.

Imagine her surprise!

She immediately claimed someone must have been pulling a prank on her. Could it be??? Why would someone do such a thing???

Considering that she's never liked me and treats me like crap whenever she can get away with it, I have to say, I felt a little vindication.

"What kind of prank is that? Someone probably saw the shake, threw it out thinking the cleaning people would take the garbage, and they didn't." I rolled my eyes and walked out of the office.

Sometimes good things do happen for those that wait.

 Funny Story...and the reason she probably "has never liked me and treats me like crap" is she's jealous of you. I'll bet she doesn't learn a thing from that experience though...people like that seldom do.
