I voted for 10 years, but here's what I know, some people, both men and women are both emotionally and many times physically older or younger than their chronological ages! If one stays healthy and fit its more likely that they can perform at levels more like someone much younger! I for one, being well within the decade range of your age feel my stamina and fitness level have me physically acting more like a teen, yet my emotional and mental state is much more experienced and mature!

It depends, do you want just sex or a serious relationship? Sex is good at any age: when I was young the best sex I had was with an older woman and now, that I am reaching the middle ages, I enjoy it with younger ladies (not too young) and ladies around my age. But the relationships I had were all around the same age as me, give or take it it a few years. These included great or at least not that bad sex as well, with the exception of a 10 year older partner that preferred psychoanalysis to sex. On the other hand, I still have a very good and non-sexual friendship with a lady I tutored when she was at school and I was earning some money as a student. She is 17 years younger than me, married now to another guy, has three kids and a PhD in medicine. I think I helped her to start her career (and get better notes in math and chemistry) but wasn't interested in her on a sexual level at that time. Would have been nice at that time, but I would have lost my job as a tutor.

I used to think 10 years younger was the most I could handle... but since I hit 55 (and lost an awesome same age partner) I’ve had to take age difference out of the equation or spend my time alone. After much frustration I noticed that in the real world I relate better and have more life interests in common with much younger women than I do with women anywhere near my age. Considering younger is almost inevitable, since as we older folks decrease in numbers, there’s less chance of finding compatibility with someone around our own age.

I picked the best answer for me which is 10 years, but reality it is more a feel thing, does the young woman in question remind me of my mother? or my daughters? If the answer is no, the actual number means less. Of course, this is all theoretical, I am not what women in my area are looking for so what my interests are of no consequence. Not the Whole Truth but the truth that I can see.

My ex wife was the same age and she had ZERO sex drive. Just make a baby and then that's it. No more sex, no kisses, no affection, no love at all. And nothing in common.
