Arguing with an idiot

There is no point in arguing with an idiot. You cannot transfer intelligence to the other side. You cannot win. An idiot remains convinced even if it is clear the idiot is wrong. Because the idiot is too stupid to realize the idiot is stupid.

One of my early mentors cautioned against trading insults with an ass. He said "Don't get into a pissing match with a skunk." Meaning the foul mouthed ass on the other side was much more potent at throwing vitriol and the result would not be helpful to our side...

So the best way to avoid wasting time arguing with an idiot, is don't argue with an idiot...

I've always liked it, and think it says it all, really.
