Todays Conversation
Todays Conversation "man you look tired." " I am. I have been looking after my for the last couple of days." "is she a rambunctious tyke." "nope an eleven year old with unknown abdominal pain." "Shitty." backs away from me slowly. "wait don't you want to hear about me having to swing to night shifts and trying to stay awake again after not doing nights in a couple of months? Maybe you want to hear my thoughts on the snarky court clerk that I dealt with earlier today. You know the one that ignored me until I forced the issue and then dismissed me quickly. Maybe you want to know some of the deeper issues about waiting at hospitals and doctors offices. How much fun having everyone cough and hack around you is when you are already zonked out. Oh wait you are now running. Good idea, Work on that cardio." End of the exhausted actors theatre. |

Thank you for the kind words. I am child free right now but my head is still occupied with thoughts of her and her pain.

I can remember many sleepless nights spent at the ER when my son was little. He had asthma...watching him struggle to breathe, the total feeling of complete frustration and helplessness, wanting so desperately to take his pain from him...hope they can come up with a diagnosis and that your daughter feels better real soon!

I understand there can be so many medical reasons for that pain...but...has anyone thought about stress? Right now the stress in her little life can be overwhelming. Mom and Dad are divorcing...she starts a new school in fall....how many of her old friends will follow her to that school? Lots of changes in her life right now. Does the ex still live with you? Does lil spider hear Mom and Dad "discussing" things? Has she become a lil "worrywart"? Sometimes doctors overlook the fact that kids can get stressed too and it manifests itself as real pain. I was like that at age 12 but mine was stomach pain which turned out to be stomach ulcers. Although you say hers is abdominal pain. I hope you understand I am not trying to minimize her pain at all but just trying to give you another 'angle' to look at. I hope she feels better real soon. Good luck!

Ohhhh it was her very first time for her period? Nothing but heat, advil and sometimes exercise will help that (I say sometimes because it depends if you can get her up and going when the pain is bad). You are in for some "wild" times now my friend..lol. I remember when my daughter was 11yrs old...
