The Kind Of Sex That Makes You Pass Out..!!..??

The event I’m about to describe happened wayyyy back when I was in high school…for some reason I remembered it a few days back and thought it might make for an amusing story here. First though, I got to introduce you to the two characters in the story.
I’ll do Tom first; Tom grew up in the same town as I did, and like me lived there from birth through high school. He was a year older than me, kinda short and stocky and a wanna be basket ball player. He didn’t make the varsity team until his senior year when ALL seniors automatically make varsity. Tom’s most memorable trait was that every time he got even slightly hurt in a game, he’d start crying and walk off the court, and I’m talking tears, sobbing, the whole deal.
Linda is the other character I got to introduce. She moved to our town and entered school in about the 6th grade, and was in my class. Linda was not an attractive girl. She was very, very heavy, dressed poorly and just wasn’t the kind of girl that would attract much attention from the guys and if a guy would have dated her, I doubt they would have admitted it to anyone.
In our town there wasn’t much to do, especially if you were too young to get into the bars. The only place a high school aged could go was a restaurant called the Copper Kettle, and as a result that ended up being the local hang out for pretty much everyone between grade school and 18 years of age. They had pin ball machines and other games, and everyone spent time there, including Tom and Linda whom you’ve already met.
One night Linda was in there with some friends and before long in walks Tom with a couple of his buddies. There was quite a crowd there, maybe it was a Friday or Saturday night…anyway, Linda approaches Tom who acts for all the world like he doesn’t know her. She tries to get him to go outside and talk but he won’t hear of it. Finally, out of desperation I suppose, she tells him…in front of and within hearing of everyone…that she’s PREGNANT…!!!
Poor Tom…you could have heard a pin drop…and drop is just what he did…Tom passed out cold right there in front of everyone. I’m sure it wasn’t a high point in Tom’s life, but it was for many of us who took every opportunity to remind him of it.

That makes me laugh against my better judgement. As the parent of high school aged children, I admit there was a level where I cringed.

My heart breaks for Linda, who got hers, in the most vengeful of ways. My heart breaks that she was conned by the promise of intimacy to learn it was meaningless.

I used to make snide jokes, "oh that was the unpopular girl in HS who is just bitter" when I'd hear such tales. But now, I see the shallowness we put out there. I hate that Tom took advantage of her and refused to admit it and I applaud her for calling him out on it.

I wonder (but am afraid) what the next chapter was.
    Did Linda have the baby?
Linda did have/keep the baby and I know Tom was paying support, at least for a while. I left that area for good in my early 30's and about all I know for sure is she ended up being professional welfare mom with several kids, undoubtedly with several different fathers.
If you had known Tom you wouldn't feel bad about laughing at his predicament.
Thanks for stopping by...hope to see you again..
