Absolutely and Completely Astonished I try very hard in my life not to pass judgment on people but sometimes the stupidity of individuals make it impossible. I happened across a news clip a few minutes ago that absolutely made me sick to my stomach. At age 6 a little boy was diagnosed with lymphoma and given a 90% chance of survival with chemo treatments in the hospital and chemo pills at home. It was as simple as having these treatments completed and he had an absolutely INCREDIBLE chance of survival and living a full life. Come to find out his mother took it upon herself to miss his hospital chemo appointments and did not give him the chemo medication he was to be taking at home. The boy is now 8 years old and has barely a 10% chance of surviving the year let alone living a full life. What on earth possesses a mother to neglect her 's treatments???????? I would without question give my life for either of my if it would save them if they were gravely ill. According to the news clip, she has been arrested without opportunity for bail and will be brought up on charges. Unfortunately, whatever charges are brought up against her will never be enough to pay for what she has done to that innocent who had an incredible opportunity to survive!!! It saddens and sickens me tremendously to think that a parent would be capable of such incompetence.      |

I found some further information regarding the case. I guess she is out on personal recognizance and is due back in court sometime in August. She of course is pleading not guilty as I stated above claiming marital discourse in the divorce however it was a doctor who reported her for neglect because he was so shocked that the child's cancer had returned with a vengeance. According to detectives, she missed approximately a dozen of his chemo appointments over approximately one year's time frame. In addition, she only filled one month of his pill form chemo medication....the doctors feel that it was completely from the lack of these medications that the child's cancer returned and is now deadly. The doctors doubt he will even make his 9th birthday which is in the very beginning of August  Had the medications been given properly and the chemo sessions been completely appropriately he would still be healthy today.The lawyer for the woman is claiming these allegations to be false and claims that she made over 100 visits to the hospital with the boy for his treatments. It appears that the father was having ongoing disputes with the mother and her current boyfriend so had no contact with her or his son for months on end. It was during this time frame that these appointments were being missed (personally I also question a father that would not insist on seeing his child when he was supposed to be going through something so difficult). Unfortunately the mother will probably get off with nothing more than a slap on the wrist which I am sure is of more concern to her than her son. When she was told by the courts that she was to have no contact with the son who is now with the father she merely stated that the ex-husband wouldn't let her see him anyway so that is fine. Can you imagine???????!!!!!!!????????? The more I learn about the story, the more disgusted I become. The charges of Reckless Child Endangerment do not seem nearly harsh enough for what this woman has done.

holy shit....how the hell could this have been allowed to happen in the first place?Someone screwed up and this innocent child will end up paying with his life for it.I do legal work and im very surprised that she was let out on ROR...thats bullshit too.If there was any real justice,i think she should have to through what she did to her son.I as a mom would protect my kids with everything i could,they mean the world to me.And hell,if she didnt have gas money--even in my shitty small town there is free busses for poorer people to get to dr appts,stores,etc..damm what a dumb bitch..its heartbreaking She's Dangerous cause she's Honest-(U2)

This is one of those sickening horror stories of parental neglect. She is a self-centered bitch who deserves to die a slow death and not be afforded any treatment. That's exactly what she did to her son. I hope by some miracle the boy has survived and will make it while she rots in jail. I have two sons and would sacrifice everything I have including my life to save them. GOD! I wish I could slap the dumb bitch.
