Caught in my mind, but not on film.
Caught in my mind, but not on film. Ahh! I can feel spring pushing winter out. The strong rays of sun melting the fields of snow. Yesterday morning we had a severe fog advisory because of the sublimation. On Noxon Road, the former Karl Ehmer farm was an interesting sight as the early morning light filtered through the layers of fog. I knew that the scene before me could have been great material for a National Geographic Photo Essay, but alas I was not equiped with the proper camera, talent, nor time necessary to due justice to the moment. So, it is ony captured in my mind. I checked online images to see if I could find anything comparable to my scene. This is the closest, and trust me, it is not close. Makes me want to be one of those people that travel through life with a camera on them at all times. Oh wait, deja vu..... Twenty five years ago I had that thought and purchased a 35 mm. The idea then was I was going to capture my infant 's life. That didn't last too long. Once I realized there was an ever increasing amount of tonnage associated with an infant, I had to prioritize what was put into the diaper bag. The camera lost out to Pampers, burp clothes, clothing changes, bottled water, emergency meals, Desitin, pacifiers known as Noonies, rattles, toys, teething rings, a security blankie named Zookie, a favorite doll, etc..... Oh well, you have the memory and the visuals and they will grow with age... I know that having photos can be a great idea as it is hard to share what's in your head - but you do sometimes miss reality when viewing life through a camera viewfinder - particularly a video camera. Am not sure what has happened to my last camera purchased for that reason - it has disappeared so I am stuck with using the phone that is always with me.
