Segway and Segue

Segue, a noun, the act of changing from one state or situation to another. It can also be used as a verb, in which case it means to proceed without interruption; in music or talk. Segway, (trademark) a self-balancing personal transportation device with two wheels; can operate in any level pedestrian environment.

I happen to like the word segue, I use it more often than other people seem to do. In my writing, I have been asked what the word is and when I explain, I am often told that I spelt it wrong, that it should be Segway. And at this point my friends, I will segue into the story of my friend on a Segway. [I’ve never managed to use both words in one sentence; lexical arousal.]

On a recent cruise to the Bahamas [the same cruise I’ll be speaking of for months], my new friend [hopefully, you’ll be hearing me speak of him from time to time in the future] took an excursion on a Segway. It was a beautiful 80 degree day in Nassau, with sunny skies. The streets were abnormally empty and quiet as it was Christmas Day. My friend had gotten the knack of driving the Segway and was driving mindlessly and enjoying the scenery, when all of a sudden he realized he felt a rather pleasurable sensation in his pants.

His shaft was leaning against the drive shaft of the Segway. “OOOOO”, there is more lexical arousal as I segue into an erotic story from a ho hum [or should I say Ho Ho Ho hum, since it was Christmas Day] story? As he leaned into the shaft it further pleasured him, and he got harder and harder, as his shaft grew.

Now, Lady J would have loved to help her friend take care of the situation, however that didn’t come to fruition. But dear friends, you’ll be reading more about our attempts.

A woman who loves words and their proper and lyrical use. How erotic.
A fun story too.

If you see me in the real world, come say "Hi Justskin."

I always behave. Preferably not well.

She just might be a woman that was gifted "Etymologicon" and "Eloquence", both written by Mark Forsyth.

I used to do a lot of writing playing with words and grammar, I lost the audience for it somewhere. Or, maybe I just thought I had.

If you want to see the master of erotic use of language, get a "textbook" by Karen Elizabeth Gordon.

"Lexical arousal" ........ sincere kudos for your coinage of a delightfully ambivalent-sounding (to most folks), yet highly intriguing moniker (to those who appreciate the nuances of specific words). In relating your serendipitous turn of a phrase, you brought a smile to my face for the clever connection of these homophonic cousins. They both DO serve to get a person from one place to another, after all .........
How about a little epizeuxis? Sex, sex, sex; my need for sex is great,

Sincere thanks for the lovely comments. It is so good to see that my effort way appreciated. So many viewers just don't comment. One wonders if they didn't enjoy, or didn't get it, or something that I haven't even thought of. I wish more viewers would comment. Oh well!
