Local Eateries
Local Eateries I ate at the Beacon Falls Cafe yesterday. It was the first new venue I was at in a while. I'm getting tired of the same old haunts. Does anyone have any suggestions of fairly good restaurants in the Dutchess County area? I need to branch out. Off to Izumi now, but it is our old tried and true. I walk in and they begin preparing our dishes even before we order. I hate being predictable. I'll change it up tonight. "Don't count the days, make the days count" |

That is it! Change is good. It adds spice to your life and open the mind. Cum to my blog and respond. Have a great kissing fun time.

My favorite restaurant used to be the Brass Anchor. It had a difficult time with the elements though. There was a flood (these things happen a lot when you are situated at the Hudson River's water line). And then trouble with heavy snow on the roof. And finally a fire took the place down. The owner (a family of local restaurantuers) decided not to rebuild. Since they closed, there is really no place in Dutchess County to get great lobster tails. So, perhaps once a year we find a reason to meander down to City Island in the Bronx and have dinner (and I always order twin lobster tails). [image] "Don't count the days, make the days count"

Another old favorite was Gracie's Cafe. In the early years, people waited for a half hour or longer for breakfast on a Sunday morning. She turned me on to eating breakfast. The kids waited patiently, because there was so much decor to keep them occupied. Oh, how the train running just below the ceiling thrilled everyone. The place went downhill after Grace retired (and then passed away soon after). Her husband Nick sold to their employee, but he couldn't make a go of it and he sold to people that hadn't a clue and ran it into the ground. "Don't count the days, make the days count"
