A Simpler Time
A Simpler Time Somebody said something about the simpler times of youth. It got me thinking, was life simpler when we were young? I worried about everything. I could tolerate little. How simple could it have been. I was lost as to my future but consumed with worry. I had no freedoms. I was but a puppet on my parent's strings. What do you think? Was it simpler, back in the day? For me it was a simpler time. No real responsibility, the future was an almost abstract concept. I knew it could happen, but it was up to me to choose the potential path. Being young and not so knowledgeable about the world I wasn't worried, anything I chose would work. I was invincible (or so I thought). I survived in spite of myself. Maybe Darwin was right.

When I was in grade school and high school, it was much simpler than today. Parents had to worry about the bills, putting a roof over our heads, feeding us, clothing us, and so on. Because we( the world) weren't preoccupied with pedophiles, , and drive-by shootings, parents would send us out to play all day in the summer and tell us to make sure that we were back to eat meals. We didn't have one-tenth of the amount of toys they have today, we didn't have video games, and we didn't have computers; but we had our imaginations and were able to keep ourselves occupied and busy all day long. High school was more relaxing for me than college was. I worked to help pay my college tuition and felt a lot of weight on my shoulders in college to do well and not waste the money being spent on me. "Don't count the days, make the days count"

I can't stay awake all night, never really could without mental impairment the next day. I wonder how Charles Lindbergh stayed awake listening to the hum of his plane for over 30 hours. "Don't count the days, make the days count"
