What is about music that gets to us?

On Saturday night I went to hear the Moody Blues at Bethel Woods. From what I could hear and see around me, most of the audience was moved in similar ways as I was to the music. There were songs in which the entire au
dience swayed in unison, or shouted approval to the lyrics.

"Isn't Life Strange?"
"Your Wildest Dreams"
"Question"

These songs brought the audience to their feet and evoked emotion.

 Music reaches our very souls. It helps us to deal with many of life's emotions. I love the Moody Blues and have seen them in person also.

 This was the second time I say the Moody Blues. The first time was at the former Brendan Byrne Arena in the early 80's. The music was so loud and bouncing off the walls. I couldn't enjoy it. I also think I was in the last row and saw nothing. Bethel Woods is lovely and has great sound. I highly reccommend the venue.

My next concert will be CSN there in August.

We did the VIP parking, which helps get you in your car before others. We also got a head start by walking to the car while they were singing the encore. The sound is so incredible, we heard (and enjoyed) the encore performance all the way up to the parking lot.

We then zipped out of the parking lot.

Our show was a Saturday so the late hour wasn't an issue. We're going again on the 31st to see CSN. It's a Tuesday night, and that would be a major issue if we had to work the next day. We'll both be on vacation though.

I love my cell phone, internet, satellite TV, satelllite radio in car, digital music and pictures; BUT I'd be lost without books, I mean the real thing, books made out of paper. I even have a couple of textbooks I kept from college, and childhood storybooks. I hear that some textbooks are on CD-rom now. Not the same!
