So a guy walks into a dermatologist....

Greetings to all the members of the Perv Nation out here in the bloglands! I hope that everyone is having a great summer. I apologize for my lack of posts, but i've been trying to keep up with my watchers.
Anyhow, on to the title of this post. One reason for a lack of face pics for me lately is I suddenly turned into a when I turned 40. Yep, pimples, lots of them. Or so I thought. When nothing I did for three months changed it i went to the doctor. Long story short, I ended up at the dermatologist and got told I have developed rosacea. The pimples can be cured, but the redness, greasy skin enlarged pores and swollen, lumpy, red nose will be with me forever. I never was stunningly handsome to start with, but this is a significant downgrade. After I let the medicine make me look a little less like a leper I'll post a picture of the new me, scars and all. You know there are a lot of people who act like trolls on the blogs, I apparently get to look like one!
I'm not going to let this get me down. I know that my most beautiful part is trapped within this imperfect shell. Unfortunately, blindfolds might be as mandatory as condoms if I ever want to have sex again!
Take it easy everyone and remember, we are all in this thing called life together and not a single one of us is getting out alive. Play nice and help each other out,

Take it easy, guns are cold.

Do some research, there are treatments for rosacea; I believe laser might be one of them, as well as various creams and ointments. I think you also have to avoid the sun and harsh face cleansers.

I too have been told that I have rosacea. I agree with kissing_softly, do some research. One thing that I have done is learn about my body's PH level and modify my diet to improve it. Another thing is I went to Merle Norman and bought an anti-redness cream. Of course I use it with some other makeup products but it can also be used alone. I think that it has helped tone down the redness and my skin looks better overall. Best of luck.

Sorry about the rosacea. I only knew one person who had it, and she always wore a wide-brimmed hat when she went outside.

I'm sure after the initial workings of the medicine, you'll look better than you think. But I like your attitude...the best of most of us is something that can't be seen!

Yes, don't take everything the dermatologist tells you, get e second opinion, and research it yourself, there is a lot that can be done for that condition!!!!

Just for giggles...a friend of mine has it, and he started to wear red tops, t-shirts etc., so when people would ask him why is face was red, he would answer because it was the reflection of his shirt!

WITHOUT PASSION LIFE IS NOTHING

beauty and looks fade , a persons soul, kindness and outlook on life are much more important.

Thank you! I am looking into all of my options and laser appears to be one in my future. As to missing the sun, well I'd rather be ugly.

Thanks, I may have to do some life choices on altering my PH. Mine is not so much redness as the thickening of the skin and breakouts, which I am fighting now.

Thank you, my main concern is the thickening of the skin that is happening, especial y on my cheeks. I've been told that if it cannot be arrested the skin will become stiffer and more difficult to move. Look in a mirror and smile once and you will see why I am afraid. Worst case scenario, without costly laser treatments, I may never smile again.

I like your friends style! If it wasn't for the loss of facial expression I'd have a cocktail and laugh it off. Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you! I was never a beauty but what little I had is going downhill! I Have the scars of 54 stitches above the neck now, and it is what it is. The hard part is having you lovely ladies get past the fact that I look like Doctor Frankenstein's weekend project and can tell you what sunrise over Baghdad looks like, or watching the sun set into the mountains of Honduras is like. As I said, there I am traped in an imperfect shell.
