Out of the Mouthes of Babes

As I was sitting next to my wife in church today, she and I were talking about our . Yesterday, he asked him mom to take him somewhere this summer. he wants to visit a place where old people are that don't have anyone to come visit them.

Doesn't' it just make your heart melt to hear your little ones desire to do for others like this?

Now the next question was he wanted to go to Game stop for a new game! grrrr....

I have a strong suspicion that we will be taking him this summer. As for raising an adult??? I already know about that too well.

 If he is talking about visiting a Nursing Home, please take him up on it. We have so many people at the one I work at who never have any visitors.
You don't have to worry about him not needing you as parents. Parenting never stops, no matter how old the child is.

Today, I took him for a ride on the motorcycle. That was fun. Too bad it was so hot and MOM won't let us get on the highway or we would have been GONE for a long time.

For a 9 year old boy, it is unusual but it really is something we have come to enjoy from him all his life. He loves doing for others. Now don't get me wrong, he is atypical selfish adn wanting little 9 year old but he is right where he needs to be in life. They grow up so fast. I'm not looking forward to that day he no longer needs us as parents. Thanks for stopping in and the compliment. We try our best and always hope that we are enough and have done the right thing.
