RIP

Well it finally happened. My Brother In Law passed away this afternoon at 3:30pm. It is a very sad loss for many reasons. He was a very significant part of our home and especially my sons life. Thank you BIL for all the wonderful memories and spending your time taking care of us. You are gone from our presence but not our hearts.

Picked him up from school every day. Made family dinner twice a week for us. The list can continue on and on. His loss is great. But I'm grateful his passing was quick and peaceful. It hurts for those of us left behind but I know he is in a much better place. Adjusting to the lifestyle change is strange but we will survive. We are all holding strong to one another. I'm trying to be more compassionate and understanding. Especially to my son but I also cant' let him use this as an excuse to act out or not take responsibility for his actions. Little man is getting lots of hugs and attention. He's doing well. I'm really surprised. He's being bigger and tougher than I think he really needs to be.

We did manage to get through the weekend OK. Little man stayed with a friend until Sunday so we didn't even tell him till then. he had a blast at his friends house. He's taking it hard but doing well. He just need a little bit of extra loving and we are giving it to him. The tears aren't over but we will survive together.

The loss of a loved one will always be a loss but for me, death is a time for rejoicing life and all that person offered. Each one of us in our family are dealing with this loss in their own way. We all have tears but today I choose to remember times of joy over the sorrow of loss. Your making me laugh only adds to that reinforcement.

 It is never easy when someone you love passes..but they will always remain in your hearts and memories...

Give extra hugs and love to your son, as it will be difficult for him as know your BIL was an important part of his life..

I am just grateful that he didn't just hang on and on. He is in a better place. Just knowing how different things will be from now on.
