teacher's strike

its on its seventh day now...with no end it sight it seems...

I do agree with what they are trying to get...

lower class sizes is an important thing... need one on one attention...and that just isn't possible with the 30 plus students in the classes now...

I feel sad for the though missing this much school is going to be hard on them...that is a lot of learning and class time that they are missing...

I can see it from both angles...

and i hope that there is a speedy conclusion to this job action...

if they were putting the kids first with the class size, it is all lost with no class at all, if they don't like the job, get a new one, but some one teach the kids

in a way i agree with you...

the children are our future...what kind of future will they have if they can't go to school...

willie8one2

what a sad statment that is...something the same is happening here...the teachers have been legislated back to class and they are not back yet...what does this tell the children...that it is ok to break the law?

hmm...

As a parent with three kids in school, the level of under funding has reached absurd levels.... mostly off loaded onto the teachers and parents. I now have to supply photocopy paper for the year for my kids, pay for every field trip, drive them to the field trip, as well as many other supplies which SHOULD be part of normal funding. Parent volunteer crossing guards, PAC committees raising money for the basics (replacing a 20 years old worn out playground, computers etc.).... and all the while the Baby Boomer generation (most of the old farts in government), who took these things for granted, keep giving themselves tax cuts (like increasing the RRSP limits) and sucking up even more medical services as they get older.....

There is a big difference between civil and criminal laws.... protesting a crappy civil law.... I say GO FOR IT.

It's not a problem of 'underfunding" it's a rproblem of over funding admin!

you want desite a real ecucational system????

give the TEACHERS, and onl;y REAL teachers the money////////

Admin is where the REAL money is today.... Reverse such, and will THEN have smart kids.......

I've more for later...
