answer a question with a question?

Everyday?

Yes everyday there is someone I call to get pricing, leadtimes or part information. Of course the company has to call me back; I understand that perfectly.

What I don't understand is why..Why...WHY do they call back and leave a message saying, "Hey Michelle - I've got that price for you. Give me a call back when you get a chance."

REALLY? Guess who isn't making that sale? Not only is it a waste of time to make me call you back, it's also another long distance call.

I understand it's a great tactic for those whom make their living on commission but those people in customer service get a check regardless.

How much money could be saved by just leaving the info.?

A call doesn't need a call.. leave the damn info.!!!

It's just a cheap ploy to get a cheap date from you. Call me back and I'll give the details of how it works. Steven

Sales people like face time, (phone time counts) they want to engage you in conversation so they can have another angle to make another sale. I used to get mad about it too but I realized they are just doing their job...

Its just another way to frustrate people, and wast more time. What gets me is when you call back and it goes to their voice mail, you leave another message and they call back while you are busy doing something else and leave the same message as before. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME!

Sounds like ya' might work for or deal with the "Almighty Corperate America". Sales people always seem to think that your world truely revolves around them, & that you totally depend on them when really it's supposed to be a 2 way street, one can not exist without the other. You can remember that, but they seem to not remember that until they start to lose sales & get reprommanded by others above them, then they will start to return calls & be more attentive, although I do see a lot that they think for everyone they lose, there are 3 more to take their spot anyway. Hopefully, you can take some comfort in the fact that there are people out there that do understand what you are going through, because most likely the people in charge of fixing the problem most assuredly won't.

My take is this: 1). If the pricing you are asking for has nothing to do - with a privacy issue - Then leave the message. 2. If is of a privacy issue - then a callback is required.
privacy issues ex: Medical, Sexual (how much is your 15 inch 7 inch thick dildo - you may not want the answer left on your particular message machine...But it would be funny to listen too - I bet) Just my 2 cents..
